Turbotoyotas "Basik" kit 5 speeds ok :)
#521
Some of the reasons the Basik appealed to me and made it my 1st choice for getting a kit:
- Vs. the Simple - without the ram-horn-style manifold, there's not much about the Simple to set it apart from other kits on the market. I would rather have the distinctive TT look.
- Vs. the Stage 1 - For my goals, I think the Stage 1 is sort of "too much." I don't need that much room to grow. In fact I prefer the smaller, more compact manifold of the Basik. Why would I want to pay $500 more for something I feel doesn't meet my needs as well?

Plus the BASIK =
efficient manifold with the smallest turbo currently offered in a kit = 310+ whp at 10psi

I'm late, I know
Hey I recently got an 05 tC and I want to turbo it. I am turbo-ing it on a budget and want to get close to 225-250whp with the least amount of cash, but more importantly with the least amount of damage to my engine. I am not very knowledgeable about cars for the most part (I'm only 15) and I want something I can install. Should I mix&match certain turbo parts? Will it cost more or less that way? I didn't post these questions as a thread because I've heard awesome things about TurboToyota kits and wanted your personal advice. Actually the real reason is that if I posted this as a thread everybody would be a d!ck and tell me to look at threads (most of which I've already read through).

Turbo Toyotas is out of business....
Don't boost on a budget.... (This is by far the dumbest thing out of the three)

lol sorry if I woke everybody up (yes I did just compare posting on an ancient thread to waking people up). Ok a lot has changed then... on the dusty old threads there is no mention of Ptuning whatsoever, talk about ZPI and TT, and obviously talk about the now discontinued S/C... not that I would want that piece of cr@p anyway.

Ptuning is on the very high end of the price spectrum.
Honestly if you don't have 4-5k then don't even bother attempting to go turbo. You will just buy inferior parts and end up with a blown turbo, engine, or other serious damage and not be able to repair your car.
