Thanks Todd I think I will run the stage 2 at a low PSI level until i save up more money for rods and pistons. Im not looking for much. 350 hp is more than enough for me. But rods and pistons would put my mind at ease.

I could utilize a similar spec bushing turbo and get the same numbers, so yes. The only difference being the slower spool time with the busing resulting in the powerband shifting about 500-800rpms higher.(say 3000-vs 3500-3800 start point for conversations sake)

for 330-350 up top how low would you like the power to come on at? do you want to run a bushing setup or a ball bearing?

boost (psi) levels will depend on the turbo you run. But figure in the 9-12 range

hope that helps.

Regards-

Todd
thanks for the input todd. well, i dont mind running the bushing turbo, i just figured since you were still looking for people to run that one, I would go for it. i would like the power to be... say at the 3000 rpm range. but i like the fact that the ball bearing has quicker spool times.

im a confused guy...

the ball bearing turbo is the one that woudl come on at like 3000. The bushing would come on later, at like 3500-3800, right?

I sure hope not. My ZX2 has a bushing turbo and it sees boost before 3k... on a 2.0L.

I'm sure you do see boost at low RPM's, but that probably means you have a pretty small turbo... Am I right?

Did you not read my sig? I have a t3 t04e 57 trim .63 a/r. I wouldn't call that a small turbo. I said it sees boost before 3k, didn't mean it sees FULL boost before 3k (around 3100 it sees full boost, it starts making it around 2700-2800).

I guess it's all relative. Compared to something you'd slap onto a built Supra... sure. For this motor it is a large turbo.

well, i'm not sure if todd is talking about peek boost, or when it comes in, but i'm pretty sure the bearing turbo comes in quicker on both. There is less friction with bearings then bushings, so they spin better. And I believe Todd's turbo is one of the larger ones put on the tC.

I picked those numbers as an example, but yes, the ball bearing would spool faster and come on quicker.

But what style manifold do you have? keep in mind I am not using a log style manifold. apples to apples remember

Not talking about what rpm it reaches full boost, but when it starts to spool and make positive pressure. Ball bearing turbos will always spool quicker regadless of the manifold style. (when compared to an equal spec'd bushing turbo)

The Stage 2 kit is based on a GT3071R which is just a bit bigger than most of the T3/T4's that everyone is used too.....but it's still not big. But for those who want something smaller and a killer powerband and want to make 310-340 whp(9-11psi) the stage 1 kit based on the GT28RS is the way to go But I have something for everyone.

Todd

What about new injectors for the turbo kit? How big can we go? Also what kind of engine management do you recoment? I want this to be the kit that goes on my car. Just want to make sure my car can handle all that power.

Depends on the turbo and how high you want to boost, but for example I am using 440's with the GT28RS kit and 650's with the 3071 kit. The 650's are overkill for how its curretly running but the customer only wanted to have to buy 1 set of injectors. This way he has plenty of room for growth.

Also what kind of engine management do you recomend?
Perfect world recommendation would be any STANDALONE.. ie AEM, Hydra etc.

But most go with Emanage. All but 3 of my customers have gone with the standard Emanage and added the pressure sensor. It works and is allot more affordable than the standalone options.

Todd

Affordable in the beginning... sure... long run... I vote standalone.

Depends on who you purchase it from. I usually offer it as a package when you buy a kit from me.

you using 440's to push 300whp?
yes, over 300 actually. With plenty of room for more.

what size injectors does the Stage 1 GT Turbo Kit come with, if any.

or do you not really have kits. do you just sell whatever setup the customer wants? Like are all your kits custom kits? (if so thats great)

and other than "silver turtle", who else on this forum is using your kits right now?
