LOL, it doesn't matter whether or not you intended to drive around without a professsional tune. The end result is the same. Your car isn't going to consciously work better because your intentions were good.
Is your tC a DD? If so, why risk so much? It'd make sense to get a beater car and "practice" on that. But maybe you've got somthing to prove.

nothing to prove my friend.. did you ever consider the fact that i jsut trust my friend and his ability to tune the greddy emanage.. he has been tuning his turbo tC for 3 years now ona dezod kit (one of the first) and i see your point about practicing on a beater but why slam me in the process of saying that.. i dont understand your hostility..

lol. The most common phrases uttered by those who know about turbos are:
1) No boosting on a budget
2) Turbo kits don't blow motors, tuners do...
No two cars are the same when it comes to boost, so using someone else's base map isn't that effective. You don't have to take my word for it though. I'd seriously save the dough and get to a quality tuner ASAP. What's the point of being boosted when you can use it without fear of blowing your motor?
That's tEh rIcE!!1111!@

1. Nobody ever said, not me said im on a budget.. but you know what I am, and most of us are.. but I do budget generously and closer to the right way.. The right way to say the statement is, Boost on a budget.. WISELY and CORRECTLY.. most of us if not all do budget.. maybe even you
2. We never said we wont get a tune, we are running a basemap until we get a tune.. and we get a tune as soon as we have one ASAP. And basemap does make a car work, and you would know if the basemap works for you or not unless you are a moron.. and running a basemap doesnt mean we are ready to be boosting and racing and beating our car, we run it to make the car work and use if we need to.
we pretty much know your point that tuning is a must.. and we agree. but saying driving around untuned is stupid is only good if the driver is stupid, the car is 100% driveable (temporarily) if you know how to and not stupid.. though there is a risk, its part of being a car enthusiast.. you are not a true car enthusiast if you depend always on professionals to work on your car so it would be completely safe.. cause if you are that, then you are better off buying some real sports car and not to mod it at all..
Im not attacking you, just reacting on your statement where part of it we disagree.. so we're good
