Twin Charge TC ! Update .... coming soon
Hello...some of you may have heard or even seen the Twin Charge TC we've been building. Well, Modified Magazine will be featuring the car in the next few months to show you what we've been able to do.
The Scion, TRD, Dynamic, ATI sponsored TC will be pretty cool. Now tuned, the Twin Charged stock motor is making some significant power and fantastic torque! We look foward to sharing more info with you all soon!

I care less about the power and more about the power curve. That is the only reason to sequentially charge a car for the most part. You can get alll the power the car will handle out of one turbo or SC, it is the power delivery that you get out of a sequential setup.

So, guys, here's your checklist everyone will ask for:
1) Pictures (thankfully, you already have them)
2) Videos and sound clips
3) Dyno sheets
4) Track times
5) Price for a kit (especially if the HP or power band are impressive)
So get to it.

My main thought is that the centrifugal charger by TRD isnt going to gain you much on the low end like a roots style charger. This is why I would like to see the power curve to see if all that is even worth it. Props for making it work if you do, but I still like to see if any benefit came out of it.

Twin charging is cool and all, friends have done it and I have dabbled with it with the old HKS twincharged setup for the 4ag. The purpose of twincharging is to take up that void of boost / torque / hp at the very bottom of the rpm range usually below 3K rpm. Twincharging was started because of crappy non efficient turbo setups back in the day that could not spool quick enough but were large enough to rock the top end. Your useing a sc that is made to build power in the top rpm and a turbo that naturally is more efficient in the top end.... Both being focused in the top end does not make much sence...
No offence but mechanically your going about the whole deal with the wrong supercharger. You would need somthing along the lines of an Ogura sc-14 or even an mp62 eaton to get the bottom end responce that would be desireable. Also a magnetic clutch would be recommended for the sc to be able to shut it down totally once the turbo spools so there is no parasitic loss from the sc.
I think you guys have a good idea going and looks cool / is fun but totally wrong concept. Twincharging can make a car a monster on the track or it can do practically nothing - hurt performance and after owning many sc setups including the trd sc and many turbo setups including a sweet one for my tc, the vortech is just not even close to the right unit.

Bah, of it is not functional and just cosmetic mecahnically, what is the point. That sc just cannot make good boost down low unless they **** it out RPM wise which kicks it out of it's efficiency range and will have more parasitic loss. Also unless they do a lot of machine work there is no way to mechanically bypass the sc from the engine.
The idea is there, they look like they have the money and the ideas but just the wrong sc for the job. If your going to drop big money into somthing, why not do it right....

Toyota has ties with Ogura. They could use one of there units. Also like I said the mp62 would be a good choice for down low. Bah anyways I agree, Kudos for trying somthing different on a tC and visually it will be pleasing. Definitly give props for somthing different and it will take a lot of hard work to acheive.
