Definitly not direct bolt on units, they are SC manufacturers. If they can make a top mount header like mine, they sure as heck have the fab skills to make brackets and mounts for any type of SC they want

Here are some ogura chargers, They are my charger of choice. Talk about freakin INSTANT boost. And they sound like a freakin f1 engine when pushed.

Deffinetly interesting, but deffinetly not intended for a manufactured application.
This is something someone does because they can, no so they can mas produce it. It can actually be done with 2 bought kits, its the tunning that would be come the issue. All it is, is a TRD Supercharger, with a turbo kit plummed in. Add an amazing tune with boost controllers to give you the correct boost levels to keep a consistent amount of boost going.

Well the idea of twincharging is the sc makes power down low and then shuts down, the intake air is bypassed to the turbo once it reaches x psi and it takes over. All this has to happen instantly so there is a seamless transition between the two.
Not both making boost at the same time, that is pointless.

But like you pointed out early, add in a centrifigal cupercharger that makes no boost down low, to a turbo that doesnt spool until 3000 RPMS. And this all seems like it would have the same result as a large turbo making ALOT of boost up high.

Agreed, with todays advanced turbo technology... not a huge need for twincharging anymore, but still if it is done right it is freakin COOL. An old buddy named Robert of Forced air technologies here in the valley did a twincharged STI with an m62 eaton. Did a bang up job on fab, never sure if get got everything ironed out or not.

Exactly except with the parasitic loss of the supercharger still pulling on the motor.

This is what I was trying to say before. An eaton/roots type charger produces boost in a much more linear fashion, so you start creating power right off the bat and it builds steadilly rather than spiking up like a turbo does. The idea is to make the power curve of a turbo more desireable. With todays setups and the amount of power you will practically run in the tC, there is zero need for it.
The roots chargers may more difficult on our engine due to the intake mani placement being behind the motor.
But, like we said, using a centrifugal unit for this defeats most of the purpose, which is why I wanted to see an actual power curve for it. I expect it will look just like a turbos power curve, in which case a simple turbo kit would get you the same effect other than the "cool" factor.

Hello everyone! Thanks for reading our post. For some of you who have seen our work, YES...our first build was the BMW Mini Cooper S Twin Charge (aka the "TWINI"). We built it originally to address turbo lag and take advantage of the immediate power of the supercharger. That Mini turned out to be the fastest Mini in the world!!
With that in mind, we decided to continue that concept with the TC. Yes, to be unique, and also hopefully to perform as well as the TWINI. I understand some points of view that it's a novelty, but if we have results anything similar to the TWINI, than I think we've done an exceptional job at building something unique and performance oriented.
The power curve is very interesting indeed and without spoiling the feature that will be released, I can only say that it's going to please many, if not all of us. We've already released the results to Scion and TRD, our main sponsors in this build. And by the way, the results you'll see are on a completely STOCK motor. After we reach maximum output, we'll be installing a rebuilt motor that will be able to fully utilize the HKS GT40 turbo we've installed !! Yes....some might use the word "sick" to describe this. We prefer "WICKED!"
If anyone is interested, I can let you know what parts we've used and who's been involved in the project. But for now, that's probably the most I can say.
by the way...the torque is way beyond even what we expected out of this $16K TC that we received!!!
