How does this work? Does it water lines run to it or is it internally cooled? Ive never messed with a watercooled turbo before.

Are you referring to a water cooled CHRA only or a GT style turbo that has both oil and water passages?

regardless it works just like a "oil" lubricated turbo works.

You get your water/coolant source from the motor. For example:

You have 2 coolant lines that feed your throttle body, you would splice into each of those for your feed and retun lines for your turbo.

i have a water cooled turbo, has oil the cools and lubricated the bearing but the water cools the housing around the bearings. it lets you cool off the housing so it cuts down on the time to let the turbo cool down before turning off the engine. there's a cut-away of a gt turbo somewhere on the net.

only if the housing has the holes for it, aka four big holes on the center piece. i looked at some 16g pics, it looks like they have these holes.

For my brothers tC which is a turbonetics water cooled turbo I ran the lines from the throttle body. Very simple to do.

I have the turbo lines running "inline" with the water lines for the throttle body if that makes since....so there is always flow.

Okay im almost installing my gt3076r, does anyone have pictures on how they tapped their waterlines? Ive read that one waterline should be lower than the other, and that the lower one will feed coolant going uphill while the higher will take the coolant away from the turbo. I just need pics or suggestions where the tap should be. I havent messed with coolant lines yet so im not sure where the coolant flow direction is. Help is appreciated

okay! I'll try to take some pics, tomorrow, its too dark now! its kinda easy to water cooled turbo! there are 2 coolant pipes run from the engine to throttle, T them and make the coolant lines for turbo
