Default What do you guys think of this setup? Worth it?

I own a scion tc automatic 07, black. I was going to get the stage 1 turbo from dezod, and their 2.5'' stainless steel turbo exhaust system. And of coarse tune it as well. They gave me a quote of around 5100 including installation.

I've been lurking around these forums for a while and heard no complaints about dezod. Im upgrading my car for my own personal benefit, im past the "racing days" but i wouldn't mind putting a mustang it its place if it pulls along side of me

What do u guys think should i do it?

ur not gonna put a GT mustang in its place with an auto. Remember ur tranny cant hold that much power unless ur ready to do work on the tranny aswell. but dezod is a great company

Yea i figured that, i figured running about 240hp or so at 8psi would be sufficient enough to not have to worry about my tranny slipping.

Your Transmission will be fine at 240whp. Just don't slam on it every day.
I'm doing almost the same thing, just buying whatever parts I can Used, to save money.
I have an Auto as well, and have done a ton of research and learnin'.

false. Ran a couple mustangs and beat them with only Dezod kit, not trans upgrades and 230 whp.

OP- go for it. it's a lot of fun.

Hey bdis3, you've got an External WG as well as the Turbo being Internally Gated right?
What's the Purpose of that?

1. No, my turbo is not internally gated. I run a 38mm external wastegate.
2. Skeet, Thanks man for the props. PM me when you get a chance, I gotta talk to you.
3. Yes, they were GT's. Mustangs are either driven by half-retarded people with an exhaust who have no clue how to drive. Or are monsters at the track. I have lost to a lot of mustangs as well, but most mildly modded ones cant keep up. A mustang with stock internals, bolt ons, a little juice, and slicks will walk most tC's though. They just need to know what they're doing.

Thanks for the feedback guys, now im really stoked to get my car. Yea i figured down the line i'll prob be doing somethings to the tranny and engine for future upgrades.

i talked to the guys at dezod and i have to say they are great. They were equally as excited as i was lol, they were extremely helpful and even knocked some money off.

I've heard some people talk about with automatics you might want to look into a transmission cooler, do you guys think it is something to look into or not necessary?

A trans cooler is necessary. It actually comes with the dezod kit. Nothing else is required transmission wise though.
