Default Who else is sick of idle problems with the f/ic?

I am so sick and tired of it. Don't get me wrong, I love the f/ic. I think it is very easy to use and has some good options on it. However, and I know I'm not the only one having this problem, this bouncing idle is really on my nerves. I have tried everything, from pulling timing at idle, to making it run pig rich at idle, to changing maf values at idle, and playing with the 02 skew at idle. When i change any of these it idles good for about a day and then it comes back again. I'm just at a loss, I don't know what else to do with it and am ready to throw it out the window. The only option i have left is i noticed that if i hold it at a steady 1000 rpms it won't do it. So i think i might fabricate something to put on the gas pedal stop to hold the idle at 1000

did you tune it yourself or a tuner?

had it tuned by the tuner, but the idle problem didn't start till a couple days later. i don't think recirc is the problem. it doesn't stall out when in boost and push in the clutch or anything. it's only at a stop. i tried spraying around the bov with some carb cleaner to see if maybe it was leaking, but it wasn't. i checked all other vac lines too. I'm also starting to wonder if it might be the sparkplugs

I had the problem also, but when I did the anti-fouler mod The idle surging went away. I guess the O2 sensor just needed to be tricked

if you did the anti-fouler on the 2nd O2 sensor there would be no reason that it fixed your problem. That sensor is pretty much there more or less to detect your cat conv. You could take that sensor and throw it down the street and the most it will do is turn on the cel.

Who knows but, I was idle surging, I did the anti-fouler mod, started the car, and the idle surging is 95% gone. I changed nothing on the car besides that so you be the judge.

2nd o2 sensor catches the flow of air after the cat and senses the air after the cat, too much air as opposed to fuel and it starts changing fuel trims. after it cahnges fuel trims it starts getting weird.

maybe, that's my educated guess.
