Why F/I?

Why F/I?
I have been reading more and more threads about motors blowing up due to F/I. This is really making me reconsider making any kind of drastic F/I mod to the tC. Aren't turbo kits supposed to come with the components necessary to fortify/strengthen a motor ieforged pistons etc.) I know that maybe it could be due to bad tuning, way too much boost, or really driving the **** out of it, as well as not knowing how to drive manual corretly. Or is it just because are our motors to pewny to handle extra hp? I didn't even want to go that extreme, maybe just 250 whp.... Is it safe, or will I be another victim.... I like to drive aggressively on the weekend on an interstate, or racing around with friends, but I am not a serious racer, nor can I afford that kind of up keep.

Buying the Turbo is expensive, but it's not the problem. I can buy one like every other person here, it's just the fear of my whip blowing up like the people's on this forum I read about. I would only like about 250 whp. That is a fast car if you ask me, especially for "spirited" driving in the street....

Thanks for the feed back guys, I am getting more convinced about it all now, lol. As far as turbos go.... which is best. I heard alot of good things about Sound Performance. Something along the lines of 280 whp @ 8 psi?

8-9 PSI is good for about 270-290whp

i can't believe someone actually asked these questions Moving on, I'm going to second the fact that boost is safe when tuned correctly and is reliable and as long as kits don't have sh!tty wastegates causing serious boost creeping. When installed, tuned, and driven properly boost is perfectly safe. Question in my mind (not to sound like a jerk) is that you seem to be a novice when it comes to tuning cars ( and i'm not claiming to be an expert) but you don't know the essentials of what comes in a turbo kit,so perhaps til you get a more in depth knowledge about your car and tuning in general you should leave it a lone. Because everyone is right in saying you gotta pay to play and until you know more about this kind of stuff you're going to end up spending more time paying then playing.

+1, just found out, that not only did I need a clutch for the car, but that our Flywheel was toasted too. So, a new stock Flywheel is going back on the car, but this time a ZPI Red Disc Clutch is going in.
