dam i guess my plastic gauge must of been off... i used a drill and a honer..

i had to bore it to 89mm but the pistons are 88.5

did you cross hatch your cylinderwalls at all because that usually helps with seating the piston?

Noise from skirt slap is normal with almost all forged pistons in almost any motor, until the engine warms up. Je's are good pistons and handle some serious abuse before failure. Never noticed if they were any more or less noisy than others in motors I have built ( mostly sbc)

Since it was brought up, this is why you should have the pistons first before doing machining & also have a professional do the machine work. I am not too sure about using plasti gauge to check the puston to wall clearance either. I know they make special micrometer for this. Plasti gauge is perfect for bearing clearance.

Now it's ME responding to an old zombie thread (wouldn't mummy thread be more accurate?) but I just wonder why people post comments on stuff that's totally out of context? The whole "plasti gauge" thing was a guy breaking ***** on some foolish comments made earlier about using hand tools to bore cylinder walls. Why am I posting this a year late? Because I CAN. And because I read the whole thread, all 4 pages, lol!
