Default will dealer install a used s/c and still warranty it?

basically I bought a used supercharger and I got a quote from my dealer (6 hours = 600 bux!) but I didn't tell them it was used they assumed it was new so will they warranty it? and the other thing is I have a friend who works in the service department who will most likely be installing it so if I tell him that its used but not the dealer will I b ok? thanks

when the supercharger is new the dealer that installs it sends the TRD warranty card ( which is packaged with the charger) to TRD with the Vehicles VIN # on the car which it is installed.
The answer to that question would be no pretty darn sure.

Why don't you ask the dealer?

Uhhh, here's a question for you. Have you talked to the dealer at all regarding an install? I had to call 6-8 different dealers to have them install my supercharger after I purchased it. Reason being is that TRD has a reflash tool (not the module that the supercharger comes with, it's another tool that connects to the module which then connects to the reflashing computer) that costs $800. Not all dealers have them. The dealership that I went to had one because one of the employees was gonna supercharge but he decided against it. Not all dealerships will wanna spend an extra $800 on a tool that they won't get use out of. I ask this because normally dealerships will charge anywhere from $500-$800 for an install. Therefore, if you're the first tC that they'll be doing the install on that means that there isn't that big of a market for the supercharger where you live so they'd wind up LOSING money & won't want to purchase the tool.

No no. It comes with the module, not the tool. The dealer needs the tool to be able to link the module to your ECU.

Ask the dealer, because if they've never installed a supercharger on a tC before chances are they don't have it and probably won't want to get it unless they have 2-3 other tC's lined up for an install cuz they won't make any money.

trd reflash it to be safe.....but hey that's my opinion. With unichip something can go wrong and you're SOL.
