I'm aware of what they can do... I'm not a mustang fan by any means... just trying to keep realistic. I know being in the fastest car you have ever been in can cause blinders. To some a a stock GT would be "fast"

To myself 13's is pretty peepy....
12's= quick... 11's is where "fast" starts...

I'm not trying to rain on his parade... just want to keep the reality that 400hp can = pretty slow in some cases.

so the argument yall have here is scion vs gt i have raced the new 5.0 and had no problems at all. nut keep in mind i do hwy rolls have traction problems form 60 rolls or less. the mustangs are quick but tc can be made quick also just depends how much money you want to thow at your car lol.

i ran a 8.6 at the track on 10-12 psi no 2 step or launch control went out ther after retune on 22psi and just shreaded my transmision oh well im on tranny #5 now see how it works out.

a 5.0 on 14 psi should be making a lot more than 660 whp.
On the forums i have seen guys make 600WHP on 7.2 psi with Vortech's blower.
There are guys with Roush blowers on 9psi putting down 600-650whp and running anywhere from 10.5-10.8 in the 1/4 mile.
Just go over to the mustang forums and check out their FI drag times. I mean pretty impressive in my opinion for a stock block.

Anyway, tC has a clear weight advantage. 5.0 is a great platform right off the bat if you are not looking for more than 650WHP on stock engine.

I personally think that a stock 5.0 will take a 300whp tc from a roll by a car or two. I'm just comparing how i raced a 2008 350Z from a roll back when my tC was on 9psi putting down 300whp/295wtq and my 5.0 vs 2008 350z.

In a tC i was ahead of the Z by about 3 cars from 50 to 105 and in 5.0 i was ahead of the Z by 3 cars from 60 to 90. Again this is just my personal experiences and i'm not bashing or defending these cars as i like them both and i own both.

stock new 5.0 at 1/4 strip is capable of 12.7-12.8 run with a good driver.
Now, a lot of people start swapping gears on those 5.0's for 3.73 and 4.10 in fact you can get 3.73 from the factory as an option. Some of them are not realizing that those gears will help them off the line but they are not for top speed runs. That's why i'm keeping my 3.31's in there.

In the video i think it was 2010 model with old 4.6 or if it was a 2011+ then it was a V6. Who knows maybe that tC was 400+whp or maybe the guy in the mustang thinks he has 400hp. A lot of variables here can come into play.

If there is a tC with 300whp in WA state i'm willing to run him just to see what happens.

Yeah Im just going off what I was told by the owner - keep in mind its a built bottom end = lower comp ratio. I just actually looked at his build thread on our local forum - says 9.5:1 comp on 12psi pulley. Its some kind of Rousch blower, not for sure on the exact specs.

Personally I think my car at 500+whp is slow Im ready for something with 4 digits lol

He blew up built engine on 12psi ?
Roush is a good blower. My buddy just put the same TVS blower on his 08 shelby and is making 650WHP/660WTQ on 17 psi.
The only thing is why i would not get one for myself is because TVS is positive displacement supercharger so it has VERY hard immediately but dies above 6K. As opposed to centrifugal superchargers which function just like a turbo, they even look like a turbo.
damn someone built him a shady engine!... and he must have a lot of $$$ to swap engines like that...
one day one day.

i think 300 whp won't hang with the new mustangs but another 50whp i think a tc will be all over it

Nah he blew up the stock engine on 7 psi making 500whp the first time we ran Shoddy tuning is what blew it up though - kept going lean above 5500rpm and the tuner told him it was ok :/ He than built it, and upped it to 12 psi - and we ran a couple weeks ago with him making 660whp. He plans on bumping to 15psi and going to E85 in the next month or two.

Looking forward to seeing some vid's of your car in action come June. I'm sure you'll be like a kid on Christmas once you finally get to drive it!

Torque is what will make up that pull or reeling action. That's one thing turbo tC's are not shy on.....

Funny thing is, Slikk is always talking about being the slowest of us F/I tC's in the crew...lol. He doesn't like to lose though and we go back and forth all the time.

One time I pulled a fast one on him. We were talking back and forth (this was before our new turbo setups), and a track day was coming up. Talking smack to one another about the time we are going to run and what not and who was going to be faster.

What he didn't see coming, is the set of R-compounds I brought to the track . Should have seen the look on his face when I pulled them out like nothing was happening and it was just routine....he had a WTF look going on...

Don't blame the car on the driver though....in that case it would be driver. Cause 400whp should be an 11sec tC.

How much you want to put on that?

Well, probably wouldn't be fair for me to do it since I'm lighter than stock

even if you were at stock weight i'd ask for that bet. the mustang is a pig man i dont care if it has 400hp it loses 25% through the drive train so it puts about 320ish to the wheels and it weighs 3600lbs. So a car with 200whp and that weighs 2900 with a full tank of gas and my 185lbs self will do work on a mustang.
