ok guys, heres the update. i left for the track around 9. my roommate, who has the camera would not wake up. so i didnt get any vids today. i will however get the camera from him for tomorrow. moving on to the track times. i started off the day leaving at about 2 psi off the 2 step. 60' were anywhere from 2.2-2.0. crappy. also i have suspected for a while now that my synchros were going bad. for most of the day this fear seemed to be a reality, as i kept missing shifts because the car would not go in to gear. i would try to slam it in as hard as i could, but it was having sooo much trouble getting in to the next gear at high rpms. this was really hurting my times. finally i got the 2 step and tire pressure combo dialed in pretty well and has some luck finding second and third gear, and started running 12.2-12.4 at 117-118mph. heres some slips from that part of the day. im #14 by the way.
mind you this whole time im fighting to get the car to go in to the next gear on every gear. then things went from bad to worse. the car would not go into the next gear AT ALL, until the rpm dropped a considerable amount. then my timeslips started looking like this.
needless to say, i was a very sad panda so i gave mike a call and let him know whats happening. he asked if my engagement on my clutch was near the floor. i told him yes. he said he was 100% sure thats why it wouldnt go into gear. so i made a petal adjustment. by the time i get done i only have time for one more pass. i ended up boogering the launch. however, mike was right....
...the car starts flying down the track and runs a 12.20 @ 122 mph. so now i know what the problem was. unfortunately that was it for today. now that i have most of the kinks worked out, im planning on seeing 11's tomorrow. especially with 122 mph trap speeds
