They did lose.
Car was acting up.
Installed the turbo and took it for a test run he noticed something wrong.
I think Kenny said it would not let him rev high.
After the first run he was leaking fluid.

i don't they did too bad considering they could only rev their engine to 4800 RPM, they lost about a car or so distance. I loved the fruit punch air freshener kenny! lol What was the deal with the car?

lol its not worth it it wasn't good.
the reason i say i thought they lost is i was at zpi last weekend and they already had a fully built engine and a giant turbo ready.
this is the car after pipes:
and yes thats an equal length manifold with dual wastegates, can't remember the name of the turbo but uhh.... its gonna hawl

Good Tune... where would they have got that from?

you guys didnt miss much. they lost. i think there downfall was trying to install 3 different power adders in 4hrs. they went a little overkill and it ended up biting them in the a$$.

Honestly I don't know how they could have had the problems they did if they were telling the truth.
The stage 0 has no management at all, stock injectors and ECU. Nitrous and Meth only work at WOT (usually). The car should have run as if it was a stock stage 0 kit, unless they had other stuff done to the car.
I noticed in the first episode they were using a laptop to program something. I don't know of any thing a laptop would help with unless they had some kind of engine management installed before hand and tuned it to run with the "stock" motor.
I believe they had a bunch of things done to the car before the show and tried to play games and that's what bit them in the ___.
It's plausible they had internals (lower compression), head work, ECU of some type and injectors on the car with a conservative tune for the beginning of the first show. They throw some exhaust and tires on, kick the tune up a to take advantage of what was already installed and boom, 3 second improvement. We all started out with I/H/E to our cars and none of us got 3 second improvements, maybe 3 tenths realistically.
Also, why would they need the methanol injection? The only reason anyone runs meth is to "lower" their necessary octane for a given amount of boost. Stage Zero at 6 psi would definitely run on pump gas so maybe they were running some stupid amount of boost with no intercooler, that's where the meth comes in.
I guess the nail in the coffin, proof the I'm correct with my assumptions:

Specifically on the left side:
Major Upgrades
bore-increase
extrude-honed
nitrous
port and polish
turbo
I love that they were trying to be slick and they lost because of it!
