ZPI Turbo Installed - Air to Water IC - Pics
Well, after 26 hours of work...starting Friday night and finishing about an hour ago...It's All In
A huge thanks to Kenny at ZPI Racing for the welding on the Liquid IC charge pipe and fitting it. I had to do a little work for about 2 hours because of my strut bar...but all worked FANTASTIC.
The Air To Liquid intercooler was a B*%ch to install. The pump I installed under the battery tray and had it pull liquid from the bottom of the radiator for the IC. The pressure cap I installed up top in the grille area. The radiator itself is in front of the stock one. However, the fan that came with it would not fit in the area...no way possible. Too small of an area. But, no biggie as the stock fans pull air thru anyway while sitting still, Moving obviously is no problem.
The only thing I have to do is find a voltage point that only comes on when the engine is running because I don't want the pump running whenever the key is in the Acc position. But, I did run it for about 1/2 hour (direct 12v tap) and it COOLS fantastic. Without it, there is no way to touch the charge tube, now, it is luke warm.
I should be able to change out injectors for stage 1 just as soon as the ZPI masters release the ESK.
Here are a few pics, with more to come. Gatta go do some softball coaching stuff.

LOOKS AWESOME. Nice work.
I would love to see if this is possible on the Supercharger!!
(That first pic with the reflection in the air panel I couldnt figure out what was going on. The reflection of the hood liner made it look like you have a huge black abys)

any pics without the bumper ?
is their any room between the bumper support and the heat exhanger ?
how much room does the fan need? additional width inches?

looks like a good clean install, but a pain in the a$$ huu?? Well, everything looks sick under that hood Sciondad. Im taking a lil bit easier of a route for cooling, as we all know a FMIC is very unefficient for the supercharger...my setup should be done soon enough as well

I didn't remove the bumper, just moved it out on drivers side.
The problem with the fan is between the existing radiator and the steel front frame bumper support needs about 1 more inch. The intercooler partially goes behind this while mounting near the bottom. I used angle steel again and mounted to the hood latch frame on that side and front bumper frame on the drivers side.
I'll post the other pics this evening when I get home.

Right now, I have the electric tapped onto the acc voltage - but I need to switch it to something else and put a temp switch in somehow.

why are you using coolant from the radiator that comes form the engine and is 180 degrees rather than giving the A/W core its own resevoir? Just wondering why you opted to go with hot water rather than cold water? this is the first and only time i've ever seen anyone use engine coolant to 'cool' an A/W setup.

Well, my daughter stopped by and I checked out the heat from driving alot....I'm amazed. The charge pipe was COLD while the engine was obviously smokin hot. Granted, it's only 60 degrees here, but usually you couldn't even touch it.
Now I guess we shall see how long it holds up.
