Default Zpi turbo stage 0 HELP PLEASE

hi on the zpiracing website, i was wondering whats the difference between the regular stage 0 turbo kit and the 07' scion tc zpi stage 0 turbo kit; does it really matter? isnt it the same car with the same engine and same specs?

No. There is a whopping 1hp difference between '05-'06 and '07. I think the '07 has a different mass airflow sensor or something like that that's different, preventing the use of 05-06 intakes as well.

Yes. +1 The '07 has a different system for monitoring air intake, it has a Mass Airflow sensor instead of a Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor, therefore, they had to redesign the kit to work with the '07. BUT, for what they put into the redesign, $325.50 price difference isn't asking all that much. I'm savin up the money for that '07 kit right now. And I can't wait till I get it. Hope this helps you out.

Man, you non-californians don't know how lucky you have it. "Oh, i'm getting a turbo kit..." Man, if I wanna go F/I, i'ma have to fork out 3000+ for 35 hp just so i can still pass smog.

I may not be from Cali, but I do feel your pain. I see ppl talkin 'bout how they get popped for illegal intakes, and their rides bein too low, and a whole mess of other stuff, and I feel for you guys. I see how it wouldn't be easy to leave Cali just because of their strict car mod laws. Personally, when I do get my kit, I'm gonna put a cat on it to replace the primary, but that's to keep the sound down and keep it more "sleeper."

Thats the way to go. Quiet engine=Good. I love a good sleeper car. The other day my buddy got owned. He was drivin an '06 EVO, he revved on a '92-'95 Civic Hatch, lookin and sounding stock. With the green, the Honda literally ate him, and pooped him out. Turns out he had a built K20 and a sizable shot of N20. When you get your kit, please, eat a Honda for me.

Oh I plan on it. I'm still stock minus a TRD exhaust and today I was rollin' through town on my way to pick up some mcd's and this grand am GT rolled up next to me at the light, and I know it has 215 HP, and we rolled off the line together and I still killed him by 2 lengths in a block. needless to say, I love my tC, and I can't wait till it's boosted so I can run with 350z's and such.

tc's have never had a map sensor. the 07 just uses a smaller maf sensor housing for tuning purposes.

the 07 make more then 1 hp diffrence, its the sae corrected dyno method for the 07 tc (which yields lower numbers then the 06 methd of testing) combined with compression ratio and piston changes creates somewhere around 10 hp increase but since the testing method is less forgiving it equates to 1 hp published with a broader torque curve.

the reason for the price increase im assuming is to negate the price of all the testing and redesigining of the mass airflow housing. The size of maf housing determins how much air the computer thinks is in the engine. Make it smaller and the same amount of air is going through but now its moving faster and the ecm thinks theres more air going into the engine. Think about putting your thumb over the end of a garden hose. Thats why the stage 0 doesnt need an emanage. It tunes the ecm with its maf housing.
