Do it the right way once and you'll probably never have to do it again.

if using the stock headunit you are going to have to use a RCA line splitter, I think any audio store should have that. If you are using an aftermarket headunit use the sub outs. if you're head unit only has front and rear use the line outs on the rear and adjust the crossover so that nothing more then low frequencies go to the amp, which means you need to find the manufactures frequency levels. BTW are you using the stock HU or an aftermarket and how many speaker outputs does it have if it is an aftermarket HU?

Aftermarket and it has...3 rca outputs

2 for amplifiers
and 1 for sub

I was wondering about that though
...because it goes amplifier then the sub
so can you plug it into the sub port and itll register it?

Yep, that would work great. Are you running more than one amp? I'm confused about what you said regarding the remote wire.

Good on the amp. I'm only running the front and the subs. And yes from the HU sub rca's to the amp then from the amp to the subs. Simple. Whether or not you wanna run aftermarket speakers from the amp is your choice. I've done both and it sounds much better.

You can go Visonik if you want. I'm not a fan of their stuff. I've always Alpine and JL but money is hard to come by. I've recently started to switch out to elemental designs. Right now I'm running a Alpine 9855 HU with a Alpine MRV-F545 amp running eDi 6500 components and two 11Ov.2's. I like Elemental designs stuff cause it's US made the tech support is insane, price point is good, and I have yet to be disappointed by their speakers. Alpine has gone down hill on their consumer lines but I hear the F1 status series is still kick ****. I made the mistake of using rockford fosgate wires, I've already had problems with the rca's they make and now I'm having a problem with the power wire. I should have known you get what you pay for.

Problems as in noise, or premature failure? I have two $10 Rockford cheapo RCAs, and i'm hoping that they'll last me somewhat long.

premature failure, the rca completely fell apart where the plug meets the wires. I'm thinking about fixing it, by just buying monster cable. and the amp power wire is loose where the fuse goes in. I'm kinda ____ed about it cause I spent some serious cash to get my setup half way done and now it'll have to be redone soon.

Wow, sucks. I don't know about xBs, but it'd take the removal of the rear right seat, panel, and trunk panels in order to run new RCAs in my car. So i'm not too strung out about them falling apart. They were, after all, $20.

Please see JL Audio's tech page CLICK HERE for more information about wiring subwoofers.

what you need to do is find a mono or two channel amplifier that does, 225 watts or 75% of that at 4 ohms. or find a two channel amp that can be bridge and is stable at 2ohms that does @112.5 watts or 75% of that at 4ohms.

By decreasing the ohm load all you're doing is getting more power out of a smaller amp, but at the cost of sound quality.
I'm sorry, but none of this is true.

i dunno where some of these people get their info from. you can find plenty of 1 ohm stable subwoofer amps that would be perfect for your setup. they are not all 1000 watt+ competition style amps...i know...i have one...i even mentioned the amp brand and model in an earlier post. the only thing that changes when you decrease the resistance (ohm load) is you gain a little distortion. but on a subwoofer you would never hear that distortion. thats why audio companies are designing sub amps 1 ohm stable, to give you wiring options. i still think a sub amp is your best option. your not gunna burn your car down or melt your subs...your just gunna get the most out of the amp and subs youve purchased.

There's a few different amplifiers that would work. Most well known brands have class D amps that will work well for subwoofers - at any ohm load (1-4). There's nothing wrong with wiring the subs for a one ohm load (all coils in parallel in your example), nor wiring them for a 4 ohm load. SPL is logarithmic - meaning: to get 3dB more output will require TEN times the power. You can see how quickly the amplifiers will run out of power, and how the subs will run out of excursion.

Feel free to post links to amplifiers you're interested in, and we'll figure out if they're a good fit for you. Of course, I'm partial to Arc Audio, and feel the KAR series would fit within your budget (I'm assuming), and will have more than enough power for the pair of subs you've got.

Cheers,
Robyn

you know most amps have a rca in and a out..... so you could run rca from one amp to the other... just make sure the rca output isnt changed by the amp.
