Default 2007 Scion TC Door Speaker Question

I used to have a 1998 Subaru Forester and I got a system in it about 2 years ago. To make a long story short, someone ran into it and now I have had a Scion for 2 years. I still have the system from that car and I am interested in installing it into my Scion. From that system I have a pair of Pioneer TS-G1042R 4" door speakers and a pair of Pioneer TS-G1642R 6 1/2" door speakers. Are these improvements over the stock speakers/are they adaquate door speakers? If they aren't are they're any good cheap suggestions? Thanks.

Put the 6.5" Pioneers you have in the back because the fronts are already nice Pioneer speakers with a separate tweeter setup. The OEM rears suck. The 4" speakers will just have to collect dust on a shelf or something because there really is no way to use them in your car.

x2
rear speakers have paper cones so they sound horrible. Fronts are 'poly' something which doesn't sound that bad.

Alright sounds good. I have an amp, 2 10" subs, a new CD deck, and those speakers I'll put in the rear. Will it still sound a lot better in the front even though those speakers will be the same?

Second thoughts, 6 1/2 in the rear might be a little tight and alot of work. I purchased and installed 6 1/2 component speakers from Crutchfield with everything needed to install, but nothing at all was Plug n Play, total custom job took days to fit everything properly.
If I had to do it again, I would dremel the old speaker out of the factory housing/bracket and secure a new set in (same size). Done, you really can't get much out of the rears but mids/highs anyways.

Just use self tapping screws or get the adapter plates/ABS plastic and make your own. It literally took me 30 mins per side including disassembly of interior to swap my friends out with the exact same speaker he has... there's only two wires involved and it's pretty easy to google which is which. Dunno why it took you days unless you did a custom enclosure mounted inside the panel. Besides, 6.5" is standard in the rear so how is it a little tight? Not being mean, just curious to what you went through in regards to problems. I used to install audio equipment for a living so this stuff is easy as pie to me.

I run an AVHP4000DVD double din, Kicker 300.1 and Kicker 350.4 amps, a 10" L7 in a Kicker ported enclosure and 6.5" Kicker KS series components front and rear.

Probably has something to do with brackets supplied by Crutchfield, I received eveything and was like WTF, called Tech support and them came back on the phone to say ya you need to buy screws and its not a typical installation...click.

BTW nice setup, can you hear me now? You can blow your speakers but when you blow your ears... that's permanent.

I don't crank it. I just wanted to be able to if I'm in the mood. I worked on jets for a living in the past so if anything would kill my hearing, it'd be that. Now I carry two guns, 150 rounds of ammo and work near rockets for a living so I'll be deaf in no time regardless lol. Besides, nothing beats the clarity of components with a 4 channel pushing them.

Anything is better than the OEM rears.
