also, the valet key is made so you can not use it to open the glove box. so when you give the car to someone to work on you give them the valet key. but please don't do that, it's very annoying getting a customers car you need to work on and not being able to take the glove box out when you have to.

yeah the valet key is the best bet. you don't want to stick a key in the transponder that the remote fob built on to it in there. you need those.

Its not the specific unit that dictates whether or not you're leaving a key in the car, its the car itself, it needs an immobilizer bypass in order to remote start, and the immobilizer needs the key, its that simple. No key in a 556u = no remote start. Hope this clears it up for you...

ok, so i found a couple alarms at my house, one being a matrix 3.5. well these were uninstalled at my dealership and this one happen to come with a 555u. will this one work for the tc? i was looking at the pics of the 556u on ebay and they look exact.y the same. it has 2 pins that go to the ignition loop and a 3 pin connector (red) that i'm not sure where it goes. oh and guess what, i open it up and find a key for a mitsu. lol.
also it had a XCRS 500m, what does this do? the red 3 pin connector went to it.

personally when i put my python 881xp in i used the key with the factory fob attached to it for the 556uw. I use my valet key now. I didn't see the need to have the factory keyless system when my after market does it. To clarify a little more here. you have to use the 556uw. the way it works... the key goes in the box (556uw), it gets hooked up to power, ground and a "status" wire. the status wire is the wire that tells the 556uw to turn on. when you remote start the vehicle, this wire is grounded and activates the 556uw. inside the box is anoter little box that the key slides in that is covered with coiled copper wire. The wire reads the resistance of the chip in the key. once it reads the resistance it sends that signal to the ignition switch via a wire looped around the switch. The loop tricks the switch into thinking that the key is actually in the switch in turn allowing the vehicle to start. in a nut shell, you have to have the 556uw. For all the people looking for the viper 5900 you can also get the python 990 available at circuit city. It is the same thing just different color. python and viper are all the same company just marketed differently. hope this helps

well good news. i came to work and my friend was in the process on uninstalling a alarm and guess what, i got a 556u. now, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 6 wires in that harness?

you only need three wires, blue black and red. blue goes to status wire off of remstart brain. black is ground and red is constant power. if your brain has a 2nd status (defroster) wire, you can use that instead of 1st status off of satellite relay pack. makes for an easier and cleaner install

cool, thanks for the info. i opend the 2 up and they are a little different but i guess i'll use the 556u since it came out of a tc also. thank you.
also, the 3.5 that i got the 555u from came with some type of XCRS (500m) i think, what does this do? this is what the 555u as connected to. but if i don't use this i can just connect the 3 wires you mentioned? and by remote start brain you mean the alarms brain right? i'll probably get the Python 950 if it matters.
