Default Alpine IVA-W200 with ipod and swi-x pix! (56k beware)

Here's some pics of the Alpine in the car. Sorry, they were night shots but I'll try to get some day shots tomorrow. The ir sensor for the swi-x is the little blue bulb thats taped next to the dvd player. Enjoy!

you cant use the shroud that goes around the unit. you also cant use the OE holes because you need to push it back. or else you wouldnt be able to close the door.

its called PAC SWI-X its an IR repeater. you tap your OE steering wheel harness then program it to work with your unit. the only problem is that you need line of sight for the controls to work.

PAC do make a manufacturer specific adapter.

just to add

install is easy

you can use pics from www.scionlife.com/tech and get all the HOW TO ___?

the only hard part is to measure and drill new holes to mount the unit because you cant use the existing holes or else it wil be pushed forward. then you wont be able to close the door.

hopefully american international or metra comes out with a kit for it. it will make things easier and look cleaner without the gaps.

i was thinking the same but then they would need to provide a template to drill the new holes, i doubt they will provide you OE brackets.

or

you can use the single din and modify it for a double din.

or

ABS plastic

Makaveli - I had it installed through Best Buy. It's a $100 if you get it installed by them. I'm too lazy to measure the the holes that needs to be drilled on the brackets. I also cannot tell you what I got the unit for otherwise I get terminated.

paintball369 - During the day time, it's still really bright and I can see it really well even with the sun shinning at it.

As far as those gaps goes, I need to find that metra kit that ppl say they got from circuit city that suppoively fits and try it out. If that doesn't work, I'm gonna cut some ABS or something.

Is there a way to bypass the system that makes the video shut off while driving?

no, thats for single din

alpine iva200 is double din. you wont find a kit to make it perfect bolt on unless you dont want to use the radio cover. you need to drill new mounting holes on both sides of the bracket!
