Does anyone know if you can turn off the sound the D3 makes when you press the touch screen buttons. (the annoying beep everytime you press the down botton scrolling through 205 pages of artists on my ipod : ).This is one thing that drives me crazy about the pioneer.

^^ yeah touch the screen in nav mode and there a little speaker icon so you can lower the nav and the touch volume or read your manual./

all i can say is WOW. the w205 was definitely worth upgrading to from the w200. i added the hd tuner and the difference is amazing. any of you have hdtv? you know that feeling you got when you watched your first football or basketball game in hd? i got that feeling all over again when i started hearing crystal clear radio stations in my car. i will never go back to analog fm. (especially since my s2000 antenna affected my reception and almost every station had some static) but enough about the awesome hd radio. the other cool thing i noticed is that alpine now added high pass filtering for the front and rear speakers. this is a big plus. now i can set my speakers to cut off any bass below 80, 120 or 160 Hz and let the subwoofer handle it. this allowed me to bump my music louder without worrying about my stock speakers blowing out. defnitely cool.

these are not the only cool features this deck has, but they are the first ones that caught my attention last night. i haven't had time to play with everything but i definitely can't wait. to anyone buying the w205, grab the hd tuner. you will not regret it.

hey fast did you get the door to close? the shop just called me and said my car is done but even with re-drilling the mounts they can't get the door to shut

I'm really concerned about this because I don't want to park my car with it open

yup, i got the door to close. this wasnt a problem because i had already drilled the brackets when i installed the w200. if they drill correctly, you shouldn't have a problem. check the tech section and look for the article that someone posted which shows exactly where to drill the holes. i followed that article step by step and didnt have any problems.

OK, I've since picked up the car and the front of the unit is sitting flush with the silver center piece. A friend and I are going to pull it out tomorrow night and fix it.

I must be blind because I don't see a tech article for it. I get the concept though so we can probably figure out, but if you can show me that it'd be even easier.

Which steering wheel adapter did you use, the PAC SWI-ALP?

It's Alpine's portable navigation unit. It has its own screen, but docks up to their AV units and uses that screen instead in the car. The unreleased one, PMD-B200, docks inside of the IVA-W205.

I wish I had seen that before. I printed them a thread I found on here but it just had a description, not the full pictures like the tech article.

any suggestions on replacements for the bracket keys? they forgot to give them back to me. I tried some strips of plastic that fit perfectly but they don't release it.

damn I feel so pathetic with this thing

the bracket keys are the ones that release the stereo from the metal housing, rght? you shouldt need those. for our cars, u can just screw the factory brackets right onto the stereo.
