Amp has no power, remote wire t-tapped on right wire
My amp isnt getting power, blew a fuse yesterday, put a new fuse in, didnt blow the fuse this time, and still no power to my amp.
I t-tapped the remote wire into the gray wire, which is supposedly the ignition wire.
I did this right, right?
Any help would be appreciated.

did you use a test light to see if that grey wire actually does go live when the car is turned on?
double check your splices?
maybe use a conventional splice instead of a t-tap. i've never been good with those things :-P

I double checked my splices, because thats what I thought it was, so I peeled back some rubber, and put a new t-tap on. Still no power.
I am gonna go out and check it with a test light in a minute.

Rerun a new wire to the amp and check the other wire you removed for a pinched wire. Sounds to me like you have a crushed wire on you hands. After you run it to the amp... check the wire again before you connect it to the amp.
Good Luck.

If the fuse blew you either grounded the lead wire at some point or it's taking too much load. I would replace the wire, if that doesn't help, choose a new wire to tap. Also, you ought to solder it, those tap connectors don't work well.

I got a new fuse today, and the guy that I got it from said that it wasnt a big deal if I blew a fuse, because if a fuse from the previous installment is used on a new car, its gonna blow. He said it happened to him all the time.
Turns out it was the ground. I had it bolted to what I thought was metal, and it wasnt. So I hooked it to another spot, and bam. It works now.
Dont think I like it though, I think I am gonna take it out maybe.
Have you noticed that the converter kinda drains out your rear speakers...thats the speakers I connected the converter to. I think mine is draining the rear speakers.....idk.
