Ok, i am bringing this back because i am starting to have similar problems too, and I am wondering if it might be the same thing.

Only when I first start the car I can choose any album or play list. but after the album ends, instead of starting over, it just flashes "1" and nothing plays. When I go to choose another artist, no matter which one i pick, even a play list, as soon as pick an album, when it goes to song choice it just shows all my songs in alphabetical order. Even if i power it on and off, it wont work again till i turn off the car.

I have been just making huge playlists to deal with it for now, but it drives me crazy. i have to switch albums before the song is over. and even that sometimes doesn't work.

To sum it up. when one play list ends i cant choose another one until i restart the car.

do you think this is the ipod or the head unit.

i think i should add that i have the 2006 Factory ipod radio.

any help would be appreciated

Default ipod problems vary... but they are there

i've had the problem with the final track on an album causing the whole stereo to stop working. I can advance to other tracks, but it doesn't play. I have to unplug the ipod and start over. I changed the settings on my ipod to "repeat" on the albums. This seems to have fixed it.

however, now I have a whole new problem. while driving to lunch with my company's IT guy, of all people, i literally had to reboot my whole car.
I pluged in the ipod. nothing happened. the stereo didn't work. it came "on" because the backlight came on. But no radio. no CD. no text on the stereo at all. no sound. unplugged ipod. unplugged cable. nothing.
stereo on. stereo off. several times. NOTHING.
then. i just turned off the car at a light, turned it back on and it was fine. To which the IT guy said "Oh my gawd did you just have to re-boot your car."

This never happened when I had my black and white 3G Ipod. But I have a new 80gig "Classic" video ipod. I don't know if it the new software, the new ipod, or just random failure, but it is REALLY annoying.

Apple and Scion need to get together and figure out the software so that it works consistently.

Works fine.
It's your music more than likely.
I've got 5 different iPods, and they all work flawlessly in my tC.

i had this problem. when the last track ended i would have to "re-boot" my car. I was able to fix it, I bought a new radio. alpine 9885 on ebay for 190. best money i ever spent.
