I'm thinking about this. is this the best way?

Subwoofers are MA1000XL 2 of them, powered by a JL 500/1, if that helps

What ohm load does the amp give max watts, that is the best way to figure out how to install the sub. Also is a a D2 or D4 sub.

First of all, your subs will only be receiving 250W each from that amp since it puts out 500W rms... Since the subs can handle 500W rms EACH you will be underpowering them... In laymans terms, less boom than you could get.

But, I would wire the DVC in series (8 ohm load from each sub) then wire the 2 subs in parallel, so the amp sees a 4ohm load. Here's a schematic:

^ is this the best configuration i can do?

2 subs + 1 amp, I think the max rms watt on my amp is 500

Well here's the problem:

-According to JL, the amp puts out 500W at any load, and is stable from 1.5ohms - 4 ohms
-Your options for wiring 2 DVCs subs are 1 ohm overall (DVC in parallel, subs in parallel), 4 ohm (as above), or 8 ohm (DVC in series, subs in series)
-Clearly, the only viable option is a 4 ohm load.

You really need a higher wattage amp if you want to get the most out of those subs.

Yep you are gonna be best with that amp and sub setup with a 4ohm load to it,only giving each sub half the capable watts,it still will be loud and clean if you tune the amp correctly with a DMM......but you will need to tune it or you risk blowing the amp trying to push the subs.I have around 550w to my ID10s and they pound pretty good, they area not maxed, but the amp I have is at a level that if I go farther will not give a clean signal.

^^ He's right, it will sound fine, but like I said, just not "maximum boom" possible from those subs.

Another thing that could be done and I would recomend is to get another matching amp and run one on each sub,or trade the sub in and get a 1000w amp, either way the subs will be under powered, but have good wattage in the RMS levels.....
