Default Audio Question!

Hey all. I have a Pioneer AVIC-D2 and I'd like to be able to play music from my iphone 3g in the car. I don't want to spend crazy money on an IP-BUS pass through so I got a 1/8" stereo-stereo cable to plug into the AUX port in the console. However, once I plugged the iphone in it didn't override the music playing through the D2. Is there any way to get music to play from the console's aux port or am I stuck going the IP-BUS route?

Are you able to select the AUX input on the D2? Using the 1/8" jack, you're going to have to control it through the iPhone, not the head unit.

I able to select the AUX input on the D2, but the D2's AUX input utilizes an IP-BUS pass through that has RCA outputs. When I plug in the iphone to the console's AUX input, the music playing on the iPhone doesn't override the D2 playing music.

Hm, ok, not sure then. I don't have a head unit myself that uses the IP-BUS passthrough, sorry.

are you plugging the Iphone into the factory AUX input??

If you are then you won't get any sound out of it, the Pioneer D2 does not use the factory wiring for that input, you would have to use the D2's AUX input in order to use your Iphone. So you are going to have to go the IP-BUS way in order for you to use your Iphone 3G.

no problem. Let us know if that works for you. So other people know if this happens to them also.
