I just recently got my '05 tc and it has the auxiliary box but there is nothing in there.

Might be a stupid question but if i were to put an aftermarket ipod connector, is that where it would go? I don't think my 30G ipod would fit.

 

Auxilary Box? Do you mean a connection that says "AUX"?
If that's what you are talking about, then I am assuming that it's either blank or there is a headphone jack there.

If it's blank, I don't see why wou couldn't run the wire through the hole, or get a connection that the stock tC's have (later than '05, I think) and use that.

However, if you are going to go with an aftermarket stereo and aftermarket iPod connection, I think the only thing you could do is route the connector through that hole.

Where is this "box"?

 

the "box" is right above the cupholders. I was reading the manual and it called it the aux box. There is no hole anywhere in it. I thought it was for ashes, but as i said, the manual says its a aux box......

i was thinking about upgrading to the stock stereo with the ipod connection.

 

Oh, I see what you are talking about. I thought it was the ash tray too.

No, the stock stereo has the iPod connection in the center console. I took it out and routed it under and up through the back. It is now in the top part of the center console rather than the lower section. But you could try to make it fit there.
