Avic D3 Installed
#41
Hello Phanon Tc or anyone else who has installed steering wheel control w/ pac adapter on the avic d3,
Do you just cut the matching color wires from the other harness that is not pluged into the avic d3 and the program the pac unit?
Also, i would like to know which program sequence i should use if i want to be able to scroll with the ipod and my presettings on my radio if posiible?
I saw your picture with the layout and was just wanting to know for sure how you did it (where you got you other wires from). If you give a little more detail... Once again sorry if questions are just stupid, just wanted to do it right the first time. I have already installed the unit and the bluetooth for it but wanted to get the steering wheel controls right. Thank you for your help.

cut the matching colors wires? only wire I cut was the white wire from the pac swi ps so I could split it in two (before/after resistor)
black - ground
red - accessory 12v (d3 harness)
white wire before 150 ohm resistor to pin 7 of steering wheel harness
white wire after 150 ohm resistor to pin 8 of steering wheel harness
solder the resistor
there is a picture of it on the first page with layout
as for programming sequence.. I forgot what I used but i used volume up/down... then seek up/down (pressing the button twice forward/back a track) .. and used "mode" as my mute button. I prefer mute since I use mute a lot more than switching sources.

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...de_Changer.htm
and open the xvid avi file, then change the description code to "divx" and codec to "DX50"
and it doesn't officially support xvid due to legal reasons.. this is a quick work around without any encoding
