Default Avic-d3 problems

Hey guys, ive searched around for a while and given up searching so here goes...

My D3 nav is not working right for some reason. Ive had it for over 2 years and for the past year its been having this problem, just never got around to trying to fix it. The arrow shows me backwards or sideways and is always to the side of the road. In other words its not accurately depicting where i am actually at. I have tried re-positioning where i am about 10 times and each time it changes back.

any help would be appreciated.

I doubt anyone on this forum will have the answer. Your best shot is to hit the Avic forums.

Is your vehicle speed sensor wire hooked up? I believe its the purple one on the right side of the car near the glovebox, near where the reverse sensor wire is. That wire has to be hooked up on our cars or it reads funny. Perhaps the connection has come loose if it was hooked up, you should check.

The wires aren't the problem or I would have had the problem from the start.

check the settings on the actual unit. you can have it set to have arrow different way because of the direction you can have the antenna facing it. i've had my d3 for over 2 issues and no problems. but check your settings
