There is a way to bypass it. I know a couple of people that can do it. It requires other parts from Pioneer.....but they just can't know what you're doing I don't know all of the details, but let's just say it requires a switch and the GPS system.

Back to the original question:
So can this thing fit with the door cover or not? I always thought it could. If it can not fit, what is the reason (is it hitting something? not enough room? etc.)?

i did hear one side effect is the fact that the unit itself doesn't think you're moving (esp. if you're not connecting the VSS wire as well...) well... that's about what you have to do to have video, right?

There is tons of proof on www.the12volt.com.

Go there and follow thier SIMPLE directions

i understand the simple directions, but actually doing it is not as simple as you may think (simple directions does not necessarily mean simple job )... i have experience in delicate soldering and i'm even afriad to mess this up. i'll just say this isn't a job for the amatuer, and for the pros... it's a risky job.... kinda like carving up a puffer fish for yourself to eat.

why don't you do it first and get back to me on how well it works, and if it's worth the risk.

anyway.. the flip-out will hit the cover, thus having it bent a little forward.... thus will fit weird, thus i would recommend ripping out the cover. (answer's no)
