Default best 10 inch sub????

ive got a custom bakooka box(not the tube) that fits on right side. take a look at my pics if u wanna see it. anyway im getting the wiring changed to fit a better sub in it so i am just getting one 10 inch sub. i dont know the mounting depth yet ill check on that sometimes tommorrow when i hve a chance. ive heard u need 2-3 inches between sub back and the back of the box to mount it right how important if at all is that space? anyway if u can give me the best 10 inch u know of to go with it wat amp should i use to power it?

ive got 1 10 inch type-r and it is perfect for the tc...not too loud and annoying, doesnt rattle anything too much, crisp for songs that dont utilize loud bass...if you can get it to fit youll love it. thats a guarantee

i agree to an extent...for a single 10"...i would recommend the 10w6...the w7's are better for the larger subs...they're still good, but i think for single 10's...dub6's baby!!

go to the website...it recommends the 500/1 and ive had this setup in 3 vehicles including my tC. the sub is 500 watts RMS so how would a 500/1 be underpowering it?

10w6

I love mine..
People can never believe it is one 10..
w7 is way too bassy...Mostly for show cars in my opinion

If your on a budget look for something used in the caraudio.com classifieds.

Other than that id take an ID Q.
I love they way the sound.

you will need a massive box to play ANY JL W7 or W6 (atleast 2 foot sealed)

for the size, price and performance, you should get a Kicker Comp 10" or a CVR 10"

the Type-R is huge. It has a 9" depth.

I think the main reason I dont like JL is its known as the "me to" sub.

"My friend just got 2 w3s" "me to"
I just like to be differant

jl audio is good but VERY EXPENSIVE, i've yet to hear a single setup with anything alpine (minus headunit) that i've liked

go for an idmax or a ID 10 or a dayton REf 10 or an arc audio 10 or etc..... i've yet to agree with a post on this thread

Wrong
the depth alone will take up the entire box that he has. plus, W7's and W6's require a "double mounting"

and for that price, you may aswell buy solobarics. the point here is cost effective.
