I've had good luck with my kicker 12" subs. They aren't the most expensive but they've taken a beating.....

I've got a single momo 10 incher in a en-closed box

I've had this sub for ever and it keeps hitting like I got it yesterday, ...It pound out a 135....this was with the lows on the Eq turnned half up.. and I have to say the SQ is ranked in the higehest I have ever heard! I love it to death...one of the best and enjoyable items for my car yet!... heres a pictue:

^becareful, your amp might overheat.

whats your budget?

if you're lookin for sq + spl, go towards jl audio. i have a 10w7 and that thing vibrates seats, mirrors, throats, hairs and your car! if you're on a tighter budget go for a w6, moves just as much air...

what's more important is the enclosure for the box...

other glass breakin subs would be

DD subs supposedly out thumps the w7's (but also takes alot of power),

alpine type-x, mtx jackhammer. a few more that i'll let someone else continue

for mid-bass definately get the DD components. (if you're an audiophile) the run like $250 a set.

naw, havn't had any problems with it over heating... it seems to keep it self running pretty cool, granted it does get hot but then again my amp is spoiled... almost 900 watts running to one 10... it doesn't have to work to its full potential ever....and if and when I push it, I open the little cover,

on top of all that next week I'm going to install a cooling system down there to prevent any form of excess heat build up...
