BLOWN FUSE
OK, I was tired and stupid and it was dark. I am replacing the interior lights like I have read in the posts. However, when I got to the one over the backseat, I think it blew a fuse. ANyone know which fuse it might be?
THanks for the info.

check your owners manual for the correct fuse.. i do believe that the interior lights go off a 7.5A fuse located in the fuse box under the hood, behind your driver side headlight. can't remember which number though... just check your manual.

A few months back, I blew the fuse to the power adapter in my armrest. I tried finding the fuse in the instruction manual as well as looking under the hood in the fuse box, but couldn't find it. I took it to my dealership and they replaced it for free under warrenty.
I recommend taking it to the dealership. It shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes and they should have the fuses on hand and replace it for free under warrenty.

hmm.. i don't think they'll replace a fuse under warrenty, esp, if you did something to cause it..
anyway.. i bought a box of 7.5A mini-fuses at Pepboys... they aren't the same size heightwise, but they still fit and work properly..
the only thing is that the the mini-fuses that they have will conflict if you have one if your fuses inside your car blow (the fuse box inside).. you might not be able to slip the cover back on because it'll stick out
but under the hood fuse box? no problem... you'll just have a little sticking out.
and no it's not $150... that crazy bastard.. where'd he get that price?

thought it was a typo... dork...
yeah... our fuses are basically mini-fuses that are low-profile.. i haven't seen them elsewhere besides dealerships or online..
at an auto shop (pepboys, autozone, etc..) they have mini-fuses that aren't low profile but still work. (except for the cover issue in the inside fuse box.)
if you want the exact low-profile ones, then go to dealership.. or check out mouser.com.. just checked it out and found it there (part # 089707.5N) it's $.37 each (dunno how much shipping is..)

hahaha.... i'm one of those dopes who blew that fuse out doing something stupid... so i've actually done the replacement before... used pepboy's non low-profile ones... kinda annoying knowing that the fuse sticks out... but oh well... no big deal.

FIXED
Thanks for all the posts. For future reference, the "dome" fuse is under the hood behind the driver's-side headlight. It's a 7.5 fuse. Scion is nice enough to put some spares in the fuse box cover. It had a 10 and I replaced with that for the time being. I am appreciative of everyone who posted. I will take a pic and post later.
Thanks again.
Matt

pedsnrs: make sure you go back and replace that 10 with another 7.5A... don't think it will cause any harm, but you never know...
Kev: I'd say just run a wire to an ignition source and fuse it with an inline fuse...
an inline glass fuse is self explanatory. They look like a little tube or small light, made of glass, and go IN the power LINE... course, you have to have a fuse holder.
