Car wont shift out of park!!
Hey guys, i have read almost every thread out there about this problem, but mine seems to be a little bit different.
Problem:
I was changing the bulb that lights up the PRD32L section of the shifter and when i put everything back the car wouldn't shift out of Park, the ABS and BRAKE lights are on however the hand brake is not up. I turned the car on and off a few times and tried it and nothing. Then the car dies, battery is dead. I jump start it, let it run for a little and after a few minutes the car shuts up. Jump start it again and as soon as you take the jumper cables off it shuts off, i tried giving it gas and it chokes. Also while all of this was going on i noticed that when i turned on my headlights the radio would turn off and when the headlights were off the radio would turn on. This happened at first after a little it stopped doing it and now the radio is off ALL the time it just doesnt work. Also the sunroof doesnt work and neither does the speedometer.
What i have done so far.
1.Checked the Brake lights and they work
2. checked the switch in front of the brake pedal it is plugged in and seems ok on the outside. (this shouldn't be the problem since the brake lights work, right? correct me if im wrong)
3. Took the battery out and replaced with my cars battery (scion is my girls, i have an 05 accord) car started right up.
4.went to advanced auto parts (shifted by pressing the bypass button next to the shift ****)
5. got the battery checked and they said the battery is no good. (i guess something messed up the battery?) when i got back to the car it wouldnt start.
6. took the accords battery out right there and had them check it, battery was fine it just needed a charge. the scion had drained the accords battery somehow.
7. Walked my a$$ to walmart and bought a new battery. walked back to advanced autoparts picked up the accords already charged battery put in the trunk.
8.Installed the new walmart battery on the TC and it started right away.
9. Finally was able to drive home and as soon i got home unplugged the new battery completely from the TC so that it doesnt get drained again.
and this is my story. I really need help here. This is my girlfriends car and she needs it to go to school i dont want to take it to the dealership because i am not rich (college student) and i cant afford a mechanic. I am mechanically inclined so im really hoping someone can point me in the right direction in order to get this fixed myself.
THANKs in advance.

Sounds to me like you tried replacing a bulb when the battery is still connected. A few questions for troubleshooting:
1. Did you disconnect the negative battery terminal before replacing the new bulb?
2. After you ran into these issues, did you replace the original, dead bulb back into the PNDRL?
3. Did you inspect your fuses under the steering wheel as well as the fusebox under the hood?
If you have not already, replace your original, dead bulb back into the PNDRL assembly after you have disconnected the negative battery terminal. Wait about an hour, and then reconnect the battery terminals. I suggest an hour because you need to allow time for the car to reset itself. There are many ranges of times suggested because most persons do not know how long it takes for the car to reset (me, admittedly being one of them), so I'd suggest at least an hour to be on the safe side. Once the original, dead bulb is connected as well as the battery terminals, start the car and see if you have any other problems.
Let us know your responses to questions 1, 2, and 3 that I proposed.

2. Yes i did put the original halogen bulb, (not led that had stopped working) and it lit up fine.
3. I did check all the fuses one by one and none of them were blown.
Let me say that my interior fuse box didnt have a lid so i didnt know the exact locations of all the fuses. However, after i read this i went ahead and checked them again. While doing so i dropped a fuse inside the kickpanel so i went ahead and removed the kick panel to find the fuse and TADAAAAAA!! I found the fuse box lid with the fuse diagram stuck in there. I went ahead and double checked all the fuses positions and there were like three that werent were they were supposed to be. After that i reconnected the battery and BAMM!! Everything Started working fine.
In conclusion, I have no Freaking idea what happened! Im just thankful i dropped that fuse and im glad it was fixed. Thanks a lot man if it wasnt for you i would've never gone back to check the fuses again.

you do not need to disconnect the battery when doing something as simple as replacing a simple light bulb.. doing so just helps to prevent you from blowing a fuse..
which i'm sure at this point did happen. the car will not shift out of park if one of a few certain fuses are blown. check your owner's manual next time to see which ones.
