Celica/RS 5.0 steering wheel swap

I hate the 05 fake leather steering wheel. The new RS 5.0 has a SICK black leather and red stitched wheel. 08 + tcs have leather wrapped wheels. The toyota celica has a nice wheel. My question is, can I just swap out any of these wheels for my old one? Will the airbag still fit in the celica wheel? I obviously cannot purchase a seperate airbag, really I just want to swap the wheel so I can have leather. Also, the "sport" steering wheel with the grey perforated leather is hideous, so that is not an option. Also, I would like the steering wheel controls to work with my d3. Does anyone know how much an RS 5.0 wheel would cost from the dealership and how easy is the swap?

mroe than likely will not work, your airbags will be in fail,if you have to do emissions your car will fail due to code being thrown from airbag not being there, and dealership will not sell you the RS5 wheel as you have to have the VIN toa RS5 to buy any of the parts fro them......
Even my buddies at the dealership I goto cannot get them for me as it is against the rules and they can get fired......why dont you take your wheel to an upolstery shop and have them make you a leather cover, that is waht we used to do in the old days for hotrods, was about $200,much cheaper than RS5 wheel will be and looked as good as if it was there by design.

the standard wheel is not leather (or pleather LOL)? i thought it was and the spec's wheel was rubber.
check to see if an aftermarket steering wheel hub from MOMO or Sparco for a Celica shares the same part number as the tC hub. that might be a good indicator.
you also have to consider whether the celica airbags are single or dual stage. the electrical connectors will be different. I've seen last gen celica wheels in a mk4 supra and an is300.

the RS5.0's wheel is exactly the same except the stitching is in red... the materials are the same.
and the spec's wheels were made out of urethane.. just plastic pretty much.

thay haven't changed a damn thing for the steering wheel since 2005 except for the spec.

yes.. the stock wheel IS wrapped in leather...
and the spec's wheels were made out of urethane.. just plastic pretty much.

so you're saying the RS5 wheel is the same as the stock wheel? it most certainly is not. completely different feel and texture

my understanding is that the RS5 wheel is the same as the standard tC, but with red stitching.
i think the celica wheel looks more sporty. according to MOMO's website, the 94-02 Celica and Scion tC use the same hub adapter (part # 7730). so perhaps its possible to use a stock Celica wheel on the tC. wiring the airbag, cruise control and radio controls are a different story.

so.. perhaps the texture is a tad different..
doesn't mean it isn't made of the same material as the stock one.. or here's a doozey..
have you factored in the fact that your stock wheel has gone thru some wear and tear.. and aging?
the possible.. uh.. discrepancy of difference in texture?
yea.. an "upgrade" for the RS5.0... as in.. colored stitching.. oh joy.

my stock steering wheel didn't have time to have wear and tear. I only had my 08 for 7 months before it was totaled. my RS5 has a completely different feel to it. it really has a leather feel to it. the stock steeringwheel was the same material as the ebreak or the stock shift ****. I was in heaven once i first felt the RS5 wheel.
