Cold Cathode vs. LED lighting?
hey guys..recently i was checking out randode.com and i saw how they sell cold cathode tubes on the site versus the LED lighting that comes optional in the Scion. I was wondering..which one is better?? Would it be worth paying for the LED lighting in the car, or would a cold cathode lighting system be a much better option?

Uhhh isnt scions system also cold cathodes.........Anyways Rhandodes system is nice, I have a set in blue. Cold cathode i think is better becuase unlike LED's it doesnt look like the light is being pointed at one direction. Cold cathodes have the light more spread out and all over the place

the LED set from scion are nice, but are way to pricy imo... the cathodes should give you more light also.. and relatively cheaper...
honestly... i have no preference over the other, but i am a LED type of guy.

The ups and downs as I know them.
Cold Cathodes are brighter provide a glow or filtered light so you get a more fluid looking light filling your spaces. They require very little power for the amount of light they give off. However a single LED will take far less power.
LED's give a lesser glow and more of a spot light effect. You are able to dim LEDs so if you want to be able to control the light that your placeing a LED is the only way to go. To fill a large area you will have to use more LEDs then Cathodes and it will require more power to run.
All in all it is normaly better to use a combo of both LED's and Cathodes so your able to get the best effect.
In my car I want to be able to dim the lights inside. I have plans to fill most of the car with blue LEDs. Only because I want to be able to dim the lights.
