Default Cool Sequential Shift Light...

http://www.brockwayengineering.com/s100.html

Found this while searching around... pretty cool device IMHO... and better than the TRD in regards to pricing... only 130 bucks!

Where would you mount something like that though?

I wouldnt buy one because it isnt visual appealing. But I will say, it is deffinetly needed. The tC's tach is very hard to see when driving and trying to maximize RPMS. Would be real good for autocross so you can pay attention and still get that 2nd-3rd

I agree... but the TRD one is almost identical as well... someone needs to take this application to the next step with a more integrated option for the tC...

I'm happy someone has one cheaper than the insanely priced TRD one out there.

would anyone consider removing the led's and rewiring them eslewhere? that's the idea i was thinking about for the tC and the xB - possbly putting the led's to correspond w/the rpms on my xB's mini tach...

Time to call ENGIFINEER! He always loves a challenge!

A good setup, plus a how-to for tC/xB guys... that'll be all the rage!

if you could mold them into the Gauge bevel above the spedometer you could see them easily

^^ moving the LEDs from the unit to somewhere else would be easy. A shift light fits into a current project I am working on (waiting on my microcontroller programmer to be shipped to me) fairly easy, so I may try to incorporate something close, but something built into the stock gauges. As soon as it arrives and I get a little extra time I will update on it.

It just must hate me. It tries to load but is taking forever. ON DSL..... oh well, I will try tomorrow since maybe the connection is just being weird today. Great idea for a project though.

wait....there it goes. Hmmm......got to be an easy way to remount the LED's from this to almost anywhere. Would do me no good but I would love to see the finished product.

I've never seen the necessity of those, After a few days of driving, my ears are my shift timer.

^above idea was good^ the gauge bezel in the xB actually has little "dimples" where the led's would/could fit... i never counted how many

tho nozerider - tru, after the many years of manual driving, shifts are 2nd nature... i think its' cool tho... like lights that beat to the music of ur motor

IT's a different deal with the tC though... 1st and 2nd are so horrible, it's nice to have a light to see to keep you on track.

I have driven stick 4-5-6 speeds for years and am very proficient. I also drive tractor trailer up to 18 speeds with high low and a spliter.

but with the tC 1 st gear goes quick. And with the supercharger, even quicker.

Ok...so...excuse me for being a little ignorant on shift lights...but..

Are they just set for the same RPM between every gear?

I'm thinking of something horribly stupid but that would be quite possibly the awesomest pointless thing ever if I can pull it off...other than my hatch...taxes come in on Friday

Essentially, I believe you set the high rpm limit for this device, then set the distance between lights up to that RPM... so it's the same between gears, just gives you a green-yellow-red warning up to redline...
