Custom Mounted Xbox in my tc
I got bored and between real work and working on other cars ive decided to start a little project and mount my xbox in my car.... ive already mounted the controller ports under my passenger dash and the power/eject button and im working on mounting the cd-rom drive under the passenger seat....tomorrow if i have time ill take pictures of everything. the guts are going in the trunk.
I was wondering what do you guys think of this idea, would you give me props for this, or is it disgusting because i dropped the actaul xbox body?
i just decided to get comments from everyone since most people around here by me dont have to many comments which makes me mad sometimes!
flame away or post as a good idea or w/e i want to have feedback here thanks
pics tomorrow around noon

yeah, I picked up a 360 recently...so i have been working on the same project with my old xbox. i am about half way through the project.
yes, it has to be parted out. the box is way too big and will make for a much better install.

well there wouldnt be a write up...if you would like me to make one i could but mine is pretty much unremovable or there will be holes where everything is mounted ....
there are no write ups because its custom done pending on the person
15 inch lcd i dunon where you would put that ...you could put 2 10 inch flip downs instead of sun visors

ok ok, we ran into a big issue, ive decided to mount the cdrom drive under the passenger seat and the harddrive and internals in the rear of the tc, we ran into the biggest issue ever and i dont know what i can do to correct this problem
the ide cable wont reach to the rear ...i need 1 to reach the cd-rom drive in the front and the harddrive in the rear and plug into the motherboard in the rear too
suggestion guys? ...should i attempt to mount everything under the passenger seat?

I attempted something like this in my xB but once I ripped apart the xbox I couldnt get it to work again because of grounding issues and the metal tray from the inside of the case. Let me know if I was just being an idiot...?

if you want ...and you want me to do it for you we could work out a price ...depending on how you want to do it...grounding should not be a problem become an electrican or at least study it before you play and everything works

MORE PICTURES TOMORROW! and im going to be molding the xbox plugs into some sort of casing or fiberglassing them to that panel so they look (better) i guess you could say
I have no negative comments so its helping me drive my production of this beast

since my pass seat was occupied underneath, the only other possible option was driver side. But the xbox will never fit there...with the cables for the seat controls.
But i didn't like that approach anyway since you'd be able to see a half gutted xbox. Plus the xbox is noisy as hell, and i didn't want it anywhere near my ears.
bluenj: If you remove the dvd and hd, and move the fan you can section the box which will be easier for your method. Like sectioning a car...slicing it width-wise to make the height much smaller. might be easier than fabricating a completely new enclosure.
I've got 75% of the electrical (soldering 60 22awg wire connections is a PITA) and 50% of the fg fabrication done at this point. What you have so far is promising, good luck. I have a few different tricks up my sleeve. we'll see if they pan out for the install.
Peruzzi: If you are having problems with electrical hitting the metal part of the case interior...just remove it, or insulate your wiring better. I imagine it's only there as a type of heat shield.
