Dashboard material bubbling
Hi, have a 08 TC release series. the area over the pass side airbag area is bubbling, its about a 4 inch area. Car is out of warranty so Toyota will not do anything, been to 2 interior shops, they said nothing short of replacing the dash. Anyone had this happen or any ideas? Thanks

i have a big patch of dashboard waving on the middle of the passenger side of the dash, and another small patch on passenger side of the dash, bothered me at first then just learn to live with it.
Im not sure if it's a common thing.

My 2005 is well over 5 yrs old now and my dash looks brand new still. Either you have a defective dash or you're doing it wrong.
And by "it", I mean anything... parking in ridiculously hot sun all of the time, cleaning it improperly with the wrong stuff, allowing someone to put their feet on your dash (I HATE this), anything. Hard to say.
But I would say the interior place is probably right - have to replace the whole thing - or get a dash cover of some sort.

Mine is an 07 and i park in the sun at work everyday... and that SoCal sun is hot, hot, hot... never a problem with my dash, never done anything special to it other than an occasional (once every 3-6 months) spray of protectant on it... yours may be a defective piece...

The bubbling is caused by the glue on the bottom side that becomes weak.
You can fix it by heating up the dash with a hair dryer and a dynamat roller. I think I saw this fix on yoursciontc. not sure though.
I would avoid parking it in the sun and such. Heat weakens that glue.
