now while its not as cool as everyone elses stuff here, i re-fabbed my ghetto-mounted screen..

before...

the screen was really bulky the way it was mounted, and though it held its purpose, i got bored and....

now you see it...

and...

now you dont...

and here is an over all shot of my interior with the screen out (ok so i thought it was a cool angle)...

and finally here is a shot of the interior with the screen put away (ok so you cant see it.. but its under the deck.)

oh btw the dvd player is still in the glove box

Either way, I can't wait to get it!!!!!!! Oh - anyone that has XM attached to one of these, where the heck do you mount your antennas? I'm thinking put the GPS and XM antennas on a mount underneath the rear sunroof glass... I never had a problem with my Delorme GPS through glass, but my first-gen XM antenna didn't like it much. Then again, if a bird farted it would cut out. Do you have it installed yet? (Pics!) LOL

Aero, I just got the MAX675VD installed last weekend, and so far I love it. I'm at work now, so I'll try to post up some pictures later on today when I get home.

I really like the clarion h/u the ipod interface is great, I even got the highspeed transfer cable so I can play video from my video ipod. This unit is nice due to the expandability, I will be adding GPS down the road, but i didn't have the cash to buy an all in one like the eclipse etc. besides I still have my old Garmin unit, and that works for now (although the touch screen is slowly dying).

The only sticking point I have with this unit is the lack of ability to use the steering wheel controls. PAC Audio makes a steering wheel interface called the SWI-JACK, that is intended for use with clarion h/us, but this unit isn't compatible as it doesn't have an input for a wired remote control. I guess I could to go with the SWI-X but I really wanted to stay away from that because it's not as "clean" of an install (the box will be visible and must be pointed at the remote sensor on the radio). This would give me a good excuse to switch out my steering wheel, as the steering wheel controls are now useless. Just need a good place to relocate the cruise control to, and I guess that will be my next project.

All in all I think it's a really nice clean looking unit and I'm very satisfied with it. If you have any specific questions about the interfaces or controls let me know and I'll try to drop some knowledge on ya!

awesome, ive been looking at the clarion as well. hows the ipod video interface? i know the pioneer d3, you control it from the ipod. do you have to to do that with the clarion? or can you control it from the unit?

also, hows the ipod interface? you like it?

i think my only complaint is the boring, plain looking interface. especially the ipod screen. can you change the backgrounds?

on the ipod interface, can you change it to a normal display screen instead of having the ipod look a-like screen?

By normal i mean just showing the artist, song and album without the whole click wheel and ipod screen being on there?
