Difficulty of a Playstation 2 install???
I will be getting headrests with monitors in them soon and was wondering how hard it would be to install a slim PS2 console in my car. I was thinking of installing it under my passenger seat and securing it with velcro. I was wondering what I would need to do for power and all that. I am a complete noob at this stuff. This is the first car I have ever modded.

you'll need to get an inverter for the car, or get an adapter (which they do have) for the cig plug. (and is much easier to deal with)
then wiring it up to the headrests... however..

yeah i figured i would get the cig plug since i wanna be able to take the PS2 out of the car when i get home or in a bad neighborhood. I want it mostly for show. The headrests are plug and play 7"

Elijah, I am going to be getting one of those slim ps2's for my car too, I just plan on getting a power inverter and mounting it to the top or side of the glove box... I'll take pics of where I run the wires... It's all for show when it comes right down to it...

can the PS2 be taken apart and have the pieces put anywhere like the xbox's?
I'd love to hide the guts of the PS2 behind one of the rear panels and put the cd drive in the center armrest and have the controller ports + power/reset buttons in the center dash cubby hole.

The only thing about the PS2 is it does not use IDE to connect the drives, this makes it really hard to extend the wires... I was thinking about this as I was going to sleep last night. I believe xbox uses IDE for the CD Drive, and that can be extended fairly cheap.
Does anyone have a site of this actually being done? I'd like to see how someone did it.
::EDIT:: Apparently the maximum length for IDE Cables to work is 36 inches...

the slim line ps2 fits perfectly in the glove box. might i ad, using the Logitech Wireless controllers (about 40 a piece), are not only great controllers, but work even with the glove box closed (i have this set up and it works great). as for power, i used an inverter in my arm rest cig lighter, and ran a power cable extension under the cup holders, behind the center console up to the glove box, its clean, and i didnt have to make any holes . lol
