Default DLS UP6 review / install

Let me start off by saying that the guys at eD have always been fantastic. They really know how to treat their customers and they do a great job making you feel comfortable spending a couple of bills.

Now being an amature installer myself i had never done a component install. I talked to ben milne and he was talking about ben hansen so i decided well lets give him a shot and see what he can do.

Install started around 130 and let me say i was very impressed. Ben H did a very good job and was very complete in his install. Not only that ben v2 is a funny guy. Opened up the crossover and smelled it and goes "ahhhh swiss" (that was funny in my head) but I'll let him post details of the install bc i think he took more pics than i. But he gets props for the creativity of mounting the crossover. But i digress.

Once the car was fired up i got antsy. i couldn't take the smile off my face when ben came and said it was done so i hopped in and took a listen.

First impressions were "HOLY **** ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!"

They were very crisp and they clarity of the DLS to anything i have ever heard before just shocked me. One of my favorite things is i was listening to a tool song and there were parts of the song that i didn't know existed such as echos and just amazing clarity.

Putting on some classical music these things just scream. They take anything you throw at them with no distortion and just pure sound. They have a nice solid mid and the tweater isn't too harsh but enough to level the field of the 2 16ov.2's. I'm really impressed with the response and the just overall sound of these speakers. They pair very very very well with my 2 16ov.2's and with some more sound deadening on the hatch and the doors i think it'll be perfect.

After the time in newton i drove home watching a movie (oceans 11) and let the speakers break in a little bit and by the end of the day they already sounded better than they did in newton. I cannot believe they will sound better in a couple more weeks. I'm in pure awe of these speakers

But yeah to sum it up:

DLS up6 = 10/10
eD experience 10/10
Install = 10/10

Worth every penny and once again thank you to eD for treating me right and putting an amazing set of speakers in the car.

after this i need a beer

here are some of the pics i have from the install

but yeah so you guys want some go to www.edesignaudio.com and tell them nebster sent ya.

In the top 3 in the world in my opinion for a solid state amp. I ran an A7 for a year last season, and I now have two A3's and a single A6. I would use nothing else DLS makes amps you buy and enjoy for life. No cheapy junk with "just bairly enough" powersupplies. They are current hogs being all class a/b but I would personally use nothing else in car for SQ

Here is a pic of my A7...

And here are pics of my new babies...

Sorry guys for the uber slow responce, net was down all weekend. But yeah, the A7 is much more powerfull The sub channel alone is 1ohm stable class a/b and will throw out 600+clean at 1ohm. The other 4 channels are also rated at 1ohm. Total the amp can be driven to around 1000rms from all channels if the load is correct. But people that buy the A7 are not usually bass heads or need that kind of power

The A6 and A3 models can all dish out 1000-1200rms ea when driven at 1 ohm.
