Default do your cd's ever get stuck because of...

I burn MP3 cd's because of course our cars play them... and I also like to put those printable covers on the cd. What Ive noticed is that some of the cd's tend to stick a little bit when Im trying to eject them, like there is too much friction because of the cover... They always come out though.. but one cd took a while to eject, it kept going in and out a little bit, and when it actually made it out it was a little bit scuffed. It had a line caused by that material on the cd door rubbing up against it(you know that soft felt like material that cradles the cd when you insert it and eject it)... is anyone else experiencing these problems?

Yes... you are not supposed to use CDs or DVDs with paper labels on them in CD/DVD units that have the slots like our factory head units. Not only is there not enough space for them to slide through the slot, when it gets hot in the summer the labels can come off in the unit, and that's not covered under warranty. My parents car, my new AVN unit, and our factory units will not accept CDs with labels. Don't risk it. Just get white faced labels and a CD printer if you must have labels on your CDs.

I never knew that. I didnt see that in the stereo manual. Thanks for the info. Its going to suck having to redo all the cd's, because I made alot... and its just about impossible to peel the labels off.

Also, on one of the tech sites i read, they have tentatively linked failing burned CDs to the adhesive labels. Seems the glue eats into the CD backing which holds the data. On tons of old CDs they checked and had people check their own, a large percentage of failed ones were labeled. That was the only common factor.

I have burnt cd's with sharpies on them and they still get stuck in my cd player. I would press eject and it would not come out. I then would just turn off my car then turn it back on and then press eject again and then it would finally come out.

Default cd player not ejecting

The CD player in my 2005 tC didn't eject a burned CD with a label on it for several attempts. I thought it might be the burned CD but now I've noticed the player hesitates on occasionally failing to eject factory made CD's. My tC is 8 months. I see the problem has been noted with burned CD with labels in this forum and I think factory CD's as well. Has anyone complained to Toyota and recieved any response?
