Does anyone have this Nav. unit
I had my mind set with going with the AVIC-D3, probably because i see so many tC's with it, but i just came accross this unit by panasonic, that has a built in hard drive, a motorized face that comes out, and a built in gps system, no need of putting the cd in to use that function, check it out, let me know what you think:
Panasonic Strada CN-NVD905U

looks like a decent headunit, but it also looks like an older model (could be wrong tho). The only thing I have noticed with panasonic dd's because I have actually seen a few of them up close, is that the picture quality isnt that great. Which you would figure for a company that makes some of the best hd televisions would get right....

Wow, never heard about that one, had my mind set on the D3 for so long, now I can't choose. Maybe I should just wait a few more months, because it seems like these units are really dropping in price.

do you expect a problem w/ this panasonic model, for your information i went to my local stereo shop and they were doing an install of this unit in an 07 tC, it looked amazing bright display sound quality, even got to take a spin and experience the navigation system, this stystem has got me sold..this model is very similar to the Z2, both have hard drives, 7" screen, and motorized display screen..the Z2 is just a bit out of my budget

Lasted longer than my Pioneer deck. To me, Pioneer doesn't cut it on my list. It seem like a lower end unit like Sony is. But Pioneer's Higher end Primer/Carrozzeria unit is another story.

You mean if you would rate them!... im sorry but panasonic is no where near being better than pioneer or alpine, in car audio...

the draw back about this panasonic model i just discovered is that you have to buy several other modules, just to get the ipod, and bluetooth features, i think i am going to get the AVIC-D3

well after careful research i discovered several draw backs to panasonics new nav. unit the strada..it had very poor text to voice control, and you had to buy several other modules just to get additional items to work with it, like the ipod, bluetooth, and xm satellite..in a nut shell it was nothing out of the ordinary..so inconclusion i went with the Pioneer AVIC-D3, picked it up last night, and my buddies installed it this morning here it is:
Pioneer AVIC-D3 Navigation/DVD/iPOD/Hands Free BLUETOOTH/XM

I still dont see a separated module for the ipod on the panasonic unit. It's just a cable. There was one thing that kept me from getting the pioneer nav unit. I dont remember what it was but it was a huge turn off for me.
