I bought dynamat b/c in performance charts it is proven better acoustically and I wouldn't trust a liquid deadner for lasting and I don't appreciate everyone trying to act like they are experts in car audio...
here are a comparison with its biggest competitor:
http://www.dynamat.com/sound_dbate_X...comparison.htm
As for edead its 45mil thick and dynamat xtreme is 67...

Why not compare eDead v1SE to Dynamat Xtreme...70mil to 67mil...looks like the eDead is thicker...and for the same price as the Dynamat, you'd still end up with at least twice as much eDead...if not more.
Plus...throw in the 20% off discount, and you're paying $1.20/sq.ft. for eDead v1SE. Compare that to $5/sq.ft. for the Dynamat extreme bulk pack....yeah.

Actually Edead V1 is 45 mil, the V1SE I used was 70 mil thick as it states on their site: http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?...pid=25&cur=USD
And for $1.50 per square foot it is far more affordable that dynamat xtreme
many years ago when I worked at best buy and could get employee discount we put dynamat extreme in a family members 96 impala ss, I also used some left overs for my 95 caprice. It was ok, but I think the V1SE is a much nicer product, it is easier to apply, and seems to do a much better job.
In the link that you applied it states "To be an effective damping material, the performance material has to exceed a damping coefficient of 0.10. As you can see, Dynamat Xtreme clearly outperforms Brown Bread’s maximum damping capability and damping range. Xtreme’s maximum performance of 0.42@ 20°C (68°F) is almost two and a half times higher that Brown Bread’s peak performance of 0.17 @ 30°C (86°F)"
This is what they claim is a "Oberst Test", you will notice that they do not use any units of measurement for this oberst test or explain what exactly it is measuring. They just claim it is an "industry standard test" Without units we do not know what difference is significant.
I am not bashing dynamat as it is a very good product, but when you add a key phrase it loses all appeal. That phrase.... "for what it costs" If you have a limitless budget by all means go for dynamat extreme, if you want a product that is directly comparable to dynamat extreme, then go with edead.
According to dynamat's website their dynamat extreme bulk kit which as a MSRP of $249.99 has 9 sheets that are 18"x32" that is 36 square feet.
You can get over 160 square feet of V1SE for that same price which is the MSRP from www.edesignaudio.com. That's almost 5 times as much for the same price....And that's not counting the 20% forum discount!
Even if you use ebay as an example, a quick glance and I see the same bulk back of xtreme on ebay for a lowest price of about $100 not counting shipping. For the same $100 there are rolls of 120 sq ft of edead, that include a free dynamat sample, what does that tell you about their confidence in their product's superiority?
I am in no way affiliated with edesignaudio, but I am simply pointing out the information that I used to make my educated decision before I sunk big bucks into deadening my car.

Wow! Those pictures are awesome, thanks!
I was trying to gauge how much work this would be and now I know...
From the sound clip it definitely sounds worth it. I haven't read your review but am looking forward to it. Thanks again for sharing...

Please ignore the paper scraps from the v1se that are still in the car. Also ignore the wires all over the place, those are the wires for my stereo that I didn't feel like removing the rest of the way.
This is still a work in progress, but I just wanted to show off what I had done so far.
I will also post finished pics when I am done in a week or so.

And yeah...I guess I can't say that I'm not affiliated w/ Elemental Designs. I used to be just a customer, now I'm the head of sales....so obviously I'd like it for people to buy our product. But I speak from a consumer standpoint when I talk about it...because that's what I was for a last year, a consumer of eD products. I had no problem paying for it which is why I wanted to work here.

Well I wasn't aware that edead made a mil as thick as the SE and I don't really trust liquids so I over looked them but I will try them out to finish up the rest of my car and see if I can tell a difference... and whats the coupon code?

Why not just buy Stinger Roadkill by the gallon and paint it on with a brush.
2 gallons will do a xB twice and it adds very little weight no smell and works better because you get complete coverage.
I think it cost like $100 a gallon you can also spray it if you have a good compressor Stinger makes a gun, it's like $20.

gotta be honest was a little dissapointed in the edead v1 se b/c of the fact that it didnt stick after the surface was thouroughly cleaned... with a blow dryer it has stuck better for the most part but this was supposed to not need any heat so not so much bad product b/c its thick stuff just needs a heat gun b/c in the same areas the dynamat stuck the first time... so all in all its good if applied correctly.

I posted a write up comparing some brands (I need to update it some). I also posted a budgeted version of a sound deadening install that I gurantee you is cheaper than anything onhere and works ars good, if not better than all of them. The deadening mats are all the same. The tar part is all made at the same factory. The only thing different is the foiling on the outside. The problem people have, lots of times, is they don't prep the surface properly so they complain about the products. Properly cleaned, adn applied with a heat gun, I have no problems getting any deadener to stick, period. Lots like to use a wooden roller, which is fine because it's really hard, but unless you take a sander (belt, paper, etc) and round ver the edges, you're going to get creases and wrinkles from the roller, and in some cases it cuts the foil, then you have a tarred mess.

I need to update the part about smells(I think I had a bad batch of FatMat, cause it's smell was twice as bad as the second roll I tried), and add a few other brands in there, as I have tried them as well.
