Eclipse CD-8445 Will Not Read ANY CDs!
wtf, my Eclipse CD-8445 will not read CDs. Doesn't matter if it's a real CD, burned audio cd, or burned mp3 data cd...it just doesn't read it. I stick the CD in and after about a minute it spits it out and says Info 3.
It started doing this out of the blue pretty much...literally it was playing a CD and then I got back in my car an hour later and it wouldn't read it.
Any ideas? I know Info 3 means it can't read the CD...but that doesn't really help me too much. I doubt I'm still under warranty as I got the head unit more than two years ago.

Your cd player is dead. I had a 8454, 8455 and one older unit (forgot which one) and they all had the same problem. After about 18 months, the dreaded INFO3 pops up. If you try a lens cleaner, it may help, but it usually results in sending it off for repairs.
So far, my CD7000 unit has been holding up... *knock on wood* and it's been over 18 months.

Actually only 1 unit from my Eclipse armada survived... my cheapy unit (CD3000 series from 2004/2005, forgot the model#) is still working in my dad's truck.
Eclipse has changed now... they use cheaper materials and have a REALLY cheesy look, but have more reliable internal components (odd trade off...). Unfortunately, their 3-year warranty is now defunct. It's only 1 year now =\
Even Alpine has cheapened their flagship models (well, flagship in the attainable range, the F1 series is still good).
It's hard to find a good source unit nowadays.
