ED NINe.1 VS Alpine MRD-M1005
Sorry for the bit of overlap but since I just want this topic to be a discussion of amps with the tC I decided to start a little poll/discussion.
The choice is pretty much a tossup between the Alpine and the ED amp as they are about the same price on ebay for the alpine or ED via their website. So price being equal (Yes I know I wont have a manu-warranty on the E-bay purchased one alpine amp) which is the better choice?
If it matters I plan to use a Alpine Type-X 10" 4Ohm Dual Voice Coil sub wired in parallel for a final impedance of 2Ohm's.
I think the ED is a better choice because its rated at 12.5V and the Alpine is at 14.4V where as the tC only puts out 13.4 or so (measured with my own DVM).
Would the NINe.1 put out MORE power than listed if it's run at 13.4 or would it trim off that extra power and still only put out the 12V ratings?
Important specs for the Alpine are here:
