I'd put it in one of those blank panels to the left of the steering wheel.

scion, yea, the clutch still has to be used to start the car. I don't have a bypass installed.

Nice idea. As a former SAAB 900 Turbo owner, I can attest to the amount of dirt, grime and dust that will accumulate near the gearshift.

Yes. You have to fool the car to think that the clutch is pressed in. It's not required for this button though, if that's what you're asking.

jmitch, yes, i can still use the key if desired. I kept it set up like that just in case the button ever fails.

so you still have to turn the key to the on position right?

if so, what was the point of this?

This would solve the problem of having the Nav. / stereo system reboot when starting the car... Hate it when it does that. Or if I have the handsfree bluetooth going through the stereo then have to start the car... Swtiches back to the phone which I then have to dig for and find. Probably shuts off the radio while you're cranking so you don't spike it though. Hmm...

I'v had this for quite some time, also with the official S2K honda button. installed it my self with a simple list of the TC's wire diagram, the location is a no brainer(i even managed to keep the cig lighter socket in case i get a G-tech) i used 2 relays since the TC has both a secondary starter wire AND ignition wire most places just hard wire it in to one.

with mine you CAN NOT start the car with the key, but the key DOES have to be in the cylinder in the ON position. Its a 3 step process: insert key and turn to on position, press clutch, push button.
beleive it or not I'v had 2 people(one was a performance muffler shop owner) come to get me to start the car for them, the shop owner was like "do you have a kill switch on your car?".
I don't wanna offend anyone, but the people saying that having to have the key in the cylinder defeats the purpose of the button are GOOFBALLS! not even cars that come with a start button from the manufac just start by pushing the stupid button(in the most advanced systems the keys have to be at least in your pocket) otherwise any jackass could start your car and take off with it!! duhrr...

also riceburner98...
you would want all electronics(including nav's and headunits)going to ground on start up, its easier on your batt , starter and ignition system in general.

There is a site called Americancustomsinc.com that USED to sell the kits pre wired with the HONDA button for 65$ but they seem to have stopped selling them, try calling them and see if they got any left. other than that, there is tons of them on ebay but they use ugly bobo generic buttons.

a honda button is 30$ new.
2 pre wired small automotive relays with harnesses will run you about 30$
the hardest part is finding the pre wired harness for the button itself, its a small 3 wire pin styled harness that you see on PC type of aplications.
