Default Factory AUX/iPod ports with aftermarket head unit

I am installing the Eclipse AVN726e in my 2010 tC. I am told the Aux and iPod connections will no longer work. I was wondering if anyone has cut and splice the AUX cable from an aftermarket stereo into the cord that runs into the AUX port in the console. And the same for the iPod cables.

If so, I'd like to know which wires are which so that I can make sure to connect everything properly.

It's just easier to get an aftermarket Ipod cable for the aftermarket head unit.

Thank you Master of the Obvious :-)

I would need to get the iPod cable from Eclipse either way...I'd still like to do this (the hard way) so that I don't have cords hanging out or an abnormally large hole in the console with the aftermarket cord pulled through...concealed and neat.

Wow I got my own joke against me. lol

I see what you mean now, but that is going to be a hard one. I just ran my Ipod under my head unit, but it sound tricky to figure out what goes where? You might have to get the Factory electrical wiring diagram and see if it tells you what wires go were. But that still leaves the aftermarket wires and what they go to?
