Where is it mounted at? You said in a previous post that it was going where my center channel speaker is. So is it in the center of the car or by the driver? Looks cool though.

You don't have to have the shift lights functional.... I have the green set at around 5100 and red at 5800... you could turn them up to 9000 if you wanted.... I just set them low for display purposes.

I have actually been thinking about how I could make a HUD. That looks pretty cool. Nice job. I would like to see pics of how it is mounted.

It's flush mounted... but I'm working on the best trim piece for it... the one I have now is too tough to bend around the tight corners and pulls out...

I'll take a pic just for reference sake though tonight.

I spent some time on the google machine and this is what i turned up.

http://www.wac.addr.com/auto/obs/hud/hud.html

These pics show it installed, i think it is a just to mount it into the dash, and not on top, looks a bit cheesy. That tinted film is needed to make the glass a better reflective surface. If you dont use it you will see a double image. The display will reflect off the inside of the windshield and off the outside.

Boy I don't like the way that looks at all.

Hopefully you did a better job than that Subaru owner did.

That's not even the same model and yes, I did a hell of a lot better job...

Thats the VSD BASIS... I have the VSD concept... and it's flush mounted into my dash, instead of dealing with wires/big unit up there...

There's hardly anything out there on it... I had a tough time doing research about it...

I'm going to cut my tint to just the size I need... waiting on getting a better trim piece first though... I don't like what I'm working with now... need to clean it up a bit.

To hook it up you just need to tap the tach from the ECU behind the glove box and the Speed wire from the plug that connects to your A/C control unit... it's not difficult at all... flush mounting it is though.

I'll post pics tonight of my mounting so far, but be informed that I'm still troubleshooting what I will use for trim, as my first idea didn't work out like I wanted.
