I have run the wires to the fuse terminal near the hood release. Where can I connect them to get power?

I tapped the ACC fuse in the fuse box under the drivers side of the dash

Did you just put the radar detector wire along one leg of the fuse?

Well i was lazy and used a mini fuse tapper so that I can use that fuse for anything esle I need in teh future. They have the fuse tappers at any auto parts store

I wired mine into the power mirror switch.

you can wire it anywhere you want, its 12v

first figure out what fuse the radar detector is rated. and make sure you have a light tester. buy 1 inline fuse, 2 wire taps and electrical tape.

^ ditto. i pulled my extra 12v plug out of my center storage box and pluged my radar detector into it and ran the wire under the center console across the under side of the dash, up the a piller and under the head liner to the driver side visor! works great and is pretty well hidden!

Wired mine to the sunroof controls, that way it's mounted high and next to my rearview mirror.

I see some people going with a high mount and others going with a loew mount. I've heard that mounting low is best for the performance of the detector. Those of you mounting high, is it because you heard that it performs better that way or is a style thing and you think it looks better?? Just curious really

High mount is better for perfmance for all bands, except laser. thats why mine is mounted high. Also the way i have mine mounted it is less detectable from outside the vehicle by an officer.

where did you get your info on high mount being better? not trying to be a D^$K, just curious. I like to do my homework before going into anything

umm i am under the impression that radar is better down low but is still good high, and laser is high mount if you want it low then expect to lose your laser.

If you mount the detector low low, wiper blades can interfere with radar; too high and the windshield tint can interfere with laser.

I ask because I bought the BEL Rx65 and on radarroy or something I heard (and from others on here) that you want to mount it low. Well, I guess I'll just wait for mine to get here and read the manual.

You can tap into any 12 volt wire. I would try and find one that turns on and off with the igntion. That way the RD dont stay on all the time.

If you want the best set up for a RD. Then get the one where the sensors moung front and rear and give you LEDs inside the car. I have done a couple of them. They are not cheap by any means though.

that's the thing, im usually willing to pay for a better product, but I don't THAT kind of money right now...but I do hear they are the best
